Procurement Specialist Nord Gear Corporation - 3.4 Waunakee, WI Job Details Full-time 17 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Bachelor's degree Full Job Description This position is responsible for sourcing and negotiating agreements for domestically procured commodities and/or services. This position is responsible for proactively managing and coordinating the purchasing process of selected commodities to ensure that quality products are received on time, in the right quantity and are purchased at the best possible price. Essential duties include supplier sourcing, supplier negotiations, purchasing functions, database maintenance, report generation, analysis and other tasks/projects as assigned. This person will provide excellent customer support to both internal and external customers. This position will be back-up support for both the Buyer/Planner and the Purchasing Assistant positions. This position will provide support to the Purchasing Manager for assigned duties and projects. Purchasing related functions including sourcing, negotiating, and establishing purchasing agreements, placing purchase and service orders with suppliers, expediting orders, de-expediting orders, resolving receipt issues and pricing issues, and ensuring deliveries are on time and per specification. Obtaining quotes from vendors including product information, price, and availability. Selecting alternate suppliers and recommending alternative materials. Database maintenance, including but not limited to updating MRP parameters for optimal inventory levels and order quantities. Report generation and thorough analysis for purchasing support and decision making. Other administration support and projects as assigned.
Education:
Minimum of 4-year Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of Purchasing experience. APICS or ISM certification.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of Purchasing experience.
Skills and Key Attributes:
Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, SAP experience highly preferred. Strong computer skills; Internet, Microsoft office, including excellent working experience with Excel. Good analytical and communication skills necessary. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for up to 8-10 hours per day.
