Freight Broker - Direct Hire We're adding an in-house Freight Broker to manage and grow our shipping operation. About the Role This is a direct-hire, W-2 position and not an agent or contract role. You'll secure trucks to haul gypsum from our mine in Nevada to customers across California, build a reliable carrier network for that lane, and grow the number of loads we book and deliver each month. Keeping trucks moving safely, on time, and at competitive rates is central to this role. What You'll Do Source, vet, and book carriers to move gypsum from Nevada to California, including [bulk / end dump / flatbed] loads Increase the number of gypsum loads booked and delivered by expanding carrier capacity on the Nevada-California lane Negotiate rates and track market pricing to keep freight spending competitive Build and maintain relationships with carriers, dispatchers, and customer receiving teams Verify carrier authority, insurance, safety ratings, and California (CARB) compliance before tendering loads Track shipments from pickup to delivery and resolve delays, detention, and claims Coordinate with mine operations and sales on production schedules and delivery windows Maintain accurate records in our system and report on loads booked and delivered, cost-per-load, and on-time performance What We're Looking For [2+] years of experience as a freight broker, carrier sales rep, or logistics coordinator Experience with bulk or flatbed freight strongly preferred; gypsum, aggregate, or building materials experience is a plus Familiarity with Nevada-California lanes and California trucking requirements, including CARB rules Working knowledge of load boards (DAT, Truckstop) and carrier vetting tools Strong negotiation and communication skills Organized, responsive, and comfortable managing several loads at once Proficient with Microsoft Office; TMS experience preferred Compensation and Benefits Base salary: $75,000 - 90,000 per year, depending on experience Performance bonus: [$3-7] per gypsum load booked and delivered , paid quarterly based in tiers Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and paid holidays How to Apply Send your resume and apply through the link.
