Kansas City, MO Job Details Full-time $120,000 - $1,000,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Freight sales and client acquisition Managing customer accounts Customer communication Accounts receivable management Spreadsheets Logistics customer service Word embeddings Research Financial issue resolution High school diploma or GED Managing client accounts Productivity software Collections account management Full Job Description The Company Broker purpose is to acquire Customers, assign Carriers to Customer tendered freight shipments in a professional manner resulting in achieving revenue and profitability goals for United Vision Logistics Brokerage Division.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Primary duties include but not limited to the following: Selected candidate will have a Customer base of Shippers established from previous work experience. Will be expected to research and develop new Shippers who will allow the Brokering of their available freight to third party Carriers through United Vision Logistics. Ensuring the Customers recruited are assigned authorized Customer account numbers by submitting credit applications to the Company's Credit Department for their review. Responsible for the on-going review/collection of their Customers A/R Balances so as not to exceed 45 days past due. Assist in the resolution of any short paid invoices or any other collection issue the A/R Personnel may request. Assist in the Set-up process of approving new Carriers when RMIS services are not available by collecting the required documentation necessary per Company's procedures and standards. Communicate daily with Customer base to elicit information on potential freight movements whereby Company's Brokerage service is possible. Negotiate with third party Carriers for coverage of Customer tendered loads in a manner that meets/exceeds the average profitability margin goals of the Company. Work cooperatively with United Vision Logistics Department and/or United Vision Truck Terminals to utilize Company Trucks to move Customer loads wherever possible. Assist Asset Trucking Terminals when requested to find third party Carriers for their Customer loads. Provide assistance in resolving administrative issues and recommend corrective actions to address customer complaints, operational breakdowns, cargo claims and/or other concerns as necessary. Compile and report revenue/profitability metrics in a timely manner as requested. Maintain professional service levels with external and internal customers. Follow all Company policies and procedures regarding all aspects of job description and in the accomplishment of assigned duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications/Experience:
High School or equivalent experience. Minimum 1+ years recent experience as a cradle to grave freight broker/agent. Proven ability to build, manage and diversify your book of freight customers/shippers. Proven ability to work and perform with minimum supervision and accomplish defined goals. Knowledge of types of trucks and ancillary equipment used for transportation Must possess excellent oral communication, interpersonal, multi-tasking skills in a time-sensitive work environment. Computer proficiency required with experience using Microsoft Office products, focusing on Microsoft Office; Word and EXCEL.
Specific Requirements/Competencies:
This person must demonstrate superior decision-making skills in an extremely time-sensitive work environment on behalf of the Company. This person must also demonstrate confidence in making operational judgment calls on matters affecting critical customer service issues.
