Position Summary:
The Carrier Operations Representative is responsible for managing and growing carrier relationships while ensuring the successful execution of freight from tender to delivery. This role serves as a key liaison between carriers, internal sales and account management teams, to ensure capacity coverage, on-time performance, and issue resolution. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a high-energy logistics environment, enjoys relationship management, and is detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Source and secure carrier capacity by building relationships with reliable trucking partners Track and trace active shipments to ensure timely pickup and delivery Communicate proactively with carriers and internal account teams to ensure on-time performance and problem resolution Maintain carrier compliance by verifying insurance, safety records, and performance history Leverage load boards and carrier networks to match freight with available capacity efficiently Analyze carrier performance data to identify opportunities for improved service and stronger partnerships
Competencies:
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities Proficiency with TMS platforms and Microsoft Office Ability to work independently while also collaborating cross-functionally
Education/Experience:
High school Diploma or GED required. Associate Degree preferred. Prior customer service experience preferred. M-Fr 8am-5pm
