Job Summary The Shipping & Receiving position is responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing materials, parts, and completed products in a fast-paced machine shop environment that manufactures pumps, shafts, wear rings, and related components. This position ensures accurate receiving, packaging, documentation, and shipment of materials through carriers such as FedEx, UPS, XPO Logistics, hot shots, and other freight providers. The role supports production operations by preparing shipments on schedule, and ensuring all customer and vendor requirements are met safely and efficiently. Duties & Responsibilities Receive incoming materials, raw stock, machined parts, and production supplies from carriers including FedEx, UPS, LTL freight, hot shots, and common carriers. Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quantity, visible damage, and compliance with purchase orders and packing slips. Verify and document received materials in company systems and distribute items to the appropriate department or production area. Prepare outgoing shipments including shafts, wear rings, and machined components for domestic and international delivery. Package parts securely to prevent damage during transportation using proper crating, banding, wrapping, and labeling methods. Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, packing slips, and related shipping documentation using systems such as FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, and freight portals. Coordinate freight pickups and deliveries with carriers including XPO, FedEx Freight, UPS Freight, hot shot services, and customer-arranged transportation. Maintain shipping and receiving records, tracking numbers, and proof of deliveries. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes safely to load and unload materials and equipment. Assist with pickup & deliveries as needed Communicate with purchasing, production, quality control, and customers regarding shipment status, shortages, damages, or expedited orders. Ensure all shipments meet customer specifications, quality requirements, and company standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-conscious shipping and receiving area. Follow company safety procedures and comply with all OSHA and warehouse safety regulations. Qualifications Previous shipping & receiving or warehouse experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment preferred. Experience with FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, freight scheduling
REQUIRED.
Ability to read packing slips, purchase orders, bills of lading, and shipping documentation. Forklift experience preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial shop environment. Strong communication and time management skills.
