The OS&D (Over, Short & Damaged) Clerk Level I position involves managing and resolving discrepancies in the freight shipments, while following all established OHFL policies and procedures
Responsibilities:
Review all previous day deliveries for short, overages, damages, and refusals. Investigate packages without identification to ensure they are directed to the appropriate customer. Conduct a damaged good assessment, contact shipper, schedule external inspection, and obtain disposition from shipper based on outcome of investigation. Answer phone calls and provide customer service by assisting with inquiries. May work with Drivers to resolve freight claims. After thorough investigation, report all unidentified freight to the claims team. Assist the claims team with salvage freight. Other office duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
2+ years' experience in position with significant customer contact and customer service. At least 1 year in administrative role in an office environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to track several different packages and inquiries simultaneously. LTL experience and knowledge of terminology and processes in shipping strongly preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to work across several different Oak Harbor departments to resolve issues. Strong PC proficiency and experience using MS Office products. AS400 experience preferred but not required. H.S. diploma or GED/equivalent preferred.
