You'll own the permitting, routing, and carrier relationships that keep specialized loads moving safely and on schedule — with real ownership over your book of business and a clear path to grow your career in a thriving logistics sector.

What You'll Do:

Source, negotiate, and secure qualified carriers for heavy haul and specialized freight Coordinate oversized/overweight loads from quote through final delivery Obtain and manage state and local permits for oversize/overweight movements Develop legal routes based on load dimensions, weight, bridge restrictions, and state requirements Arrange escorts, pilot cars, police escorts, and routing surveys as needed Ensure compliance with state, provincial, and federal permitting regulations Build and maintain a network of qualified heavy haul and specialized carriers using load boards, carrier databases, and industry relationships Verify carrier authority, insurance, safety ratings, and equipment capabilities Partner with customers to determine equipment requirements and transportation plans Monitor shipments from pickup to delivery, communicating proactively and resolving issues Collaborate with operations, dispatch, and asset-based fleets to maximize utilization and service Maintain accurate records in TMS and operational systems Meet profitability goals while delivering excellent service

What You Bring:

3-5 years of freight brokerage experience with a focus on heavy haul/specialized transportation Proven experience obtaining oversize/overweight permits throughout North America Strong knowledge of state-by-state permitting, route restrictions, escort requirements, and legal transportation limits Hands-on experience with flatbeds, step decks, Conestogas, RGNs, lowboys, and double drops Ability to read engineering drawings, dimensions, axle weights, and load specs Understanding of cargo securement requirements and specialized freight best practices Experience with DAT, Truckstop, and other brokerage platforms Familiarity with

DOT/FMCSA

regulations and carrier onboarding Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred:

construction equipment, energy/power generation projects, industrial machinery moves, project cargo/super loads, or asset-based flatbed/heavy haul trucking experience.
