Lifepoint Health has an opportunity for a Market Chief Executive Officer. The Market CEO will have oversight of UP Health System, both the Marquette, Michigan and Ishpeming, Michigan locations. As a 222-bed specialty care hospital, UP Health System - Marquette receives patients from across the UP and provides care in 65 specialties and subspecialties. Its medical staff of more than 200 doctors works as a team with its more than 1,800 employees in caring for approximately 9,000 inpatients and more than 350,000 outpatients per year. UP Health System - Marquette's major services include its Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine Center, Rehabilitation Center, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management Center and Women's Health, Family Birthing, and Pediatrics Center. The hospital also provides the region's premier services in imaging, surgery and laboratory and is home to the UP Telehealth Network, a leading telehealth network in the nation. We also service many of the communities in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, with 42 primary and specialty care clinics spread throughout the region.

//www.uphealthsystem.com/bell The Market Chief Executive Officer serves as the senior executive leader for an assigned healthcare market and is accountable for the strategic, operational, financial, clinical, and cultural performance of multiple facilities and related service areas. This role provides enterprise-aligned leadership across a multi-site healthcare environment to ensure each facility delivers high-quality, safe, patient-centered care while advancing market growth, operational excellence, physician alignment, employee engagement, and community partnership. The Market Chief Executive Officer leads and supports hospital chief executive officers and other assigned market leaders, partners closely with division and enterprise leadership, and establishes a consistent leadership framework that drives accountability, collaboration, performance improvement, and sustainable results across the market. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide executive leadership and accountability for the overall performance of the assigned market, including financial results, operational effectiveness, clinical quality, patient safety, patient experience, employee engagement, strategic growth, and regulatory readiness across multiple facilities. Lead, coach, develop, and hold hospital chief executive officers and assigned market leaders accountable for achieving market and facility goals, strengthening leadership capability, and sustaining a high-performing, collaborative culture. Establish, communicate, and execute a market strategy aligned with enterprise and division priorities, including service line development, access, growth, quality improvement, physician alignment, workforce stability, and community needs. Oversee multi-site operations to ensure efficient, effective, compliant, and patient-focused delivery of care and services while identifying opportunities to improve performance, standardize best practices, optimize resources, and strengthen outcomes across the market. Maintain responsibility for market financial performance, including budget oversight, financial reporting, capital planning, resource allocation, major expenditures, managed care considerations, and other decisions that materially impact market and facility results. Champion quality, safety, patient experience, and clinical excellence by ensuring appropriate systems, leadership focus, governance, and accountability are in place across all assigned facilities. Promote a positive and consistent employee culture across the market by providing visible leadership, effective communication, and support that strengthens engagement, retention, accountability, and leadership alignment. Ensure compliance with applicable accreditation, licensure, regulatory, payer, and enterprise requirements, including The Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid, state licensure standards, and other governing agencies across assigned facilities. Represent the market effectively with physicians, boards, employees, community stakeholders, division leadership, and enterprise partners while advancing the organization's reputation, partnerships, and strategic priorities.
Education :
A master's degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Management, or a related field is required.
Experience:
A minimum of five to seven years of senior healthcare executive leadership experience is required, including accountability demonstrated for multi-site hospital or market-level operations. Prior Chief Executive Officer experience in a comparable acute care hospital environment is strongly preferred. Demonstrated success leading complex healthcare operations across multiple facilities, including financial performance, quality outcomes, patient experience, physician engagement, employee engagement, service line growth, and strategic execution.
