Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational management of Meals on Wheels' programs, staff, finances, and stakeholder relationships. The ED will ensure the organization's continued success in fulfilling its mission while positioning it for future growth and sustainability. Responsibilities Leadership and Management
- Ensure ongoing program excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and compliance with applicable state contracts, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Lead and support an integrated team of operations, finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems professionals.
- Develop and maintain systems that effectively measure organizational performance and progress toward strategic goals and mission outcomes.
- Evaluate programs and operational processes to sustain service quality and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Effectively manage the relationship with the organization's third-party catering provider, a critical partner in service delivery.
- Recruit, lead, coach, develop, and retain a high-performing workforce.
- Foster employee engagement and inspire collaboration among staff, volunteers, board members, community partners, municipal and county leaders, funders, and the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
- Ensure sound financial stewardship through responsible budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and operational decision-making.
- Drive innovation by identifying and implementing high-impact opportunities that enhance services and advance the mission. Fundraising and Communications
- Expand and diversify fundraising efforts to support current operations and future strategic initiatives approved by the Board.
- Cultivate and maintain meaningful donor relationships while protecting and enhancing the organization's reputation within the community.
- Strengthen all aspects of organizational communications, including digital presence, community outreach, public relations, and stakeholder engagement.
- Increase public awareness of organizational impact, expand participation among eligible clients, and strengthen community support.
- Serve as the primary ambassador for the organization by building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and representing Meals on Wheels throughout the community.
