The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive officer of NHSCOT and is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operation of the organization in accordance with its mission, strategic direction, and policies established by the Board of Governors. Reporting directly to the Board of Governors, the Executive Director works collaboratively with the Board to establish organizational priorities, strategic goals, and operational objectives. The Executive Director is responsible for developing and implementing plans, programs, and initiatives that ensure the long-term cultural, organizational, and financial success of NHSCOT. The Executive Director provides vision, leadership, and management for all aspects of the organization, including cultural programming, festival operations, fundraising, financial management, marketing, communications, facility development, volunteer engagement, and community relations. Organizational Leadership 1. Provide strategic leadership and vision to advance NHSCOT's mission and long-term goals, while ensuring programming and initiatives remain aligned to the mission. 2. Lead long-range strategic planning in partnership with the Board of Governors. 3. Collaborate with the Board to establish and implement organizational priorities and strategic initiatives. 4. Execute Board-approved policies, strategic priorities, and organizational objectives. 5. Maintain regular communication with the Board through reports, meetings, and consultation with the provision of timely operational updates and strategic insights. 6. Attend meetings of the Board of Governors and, as necessary, its committees. 7. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and nonprofit governance requirements. Financial Management 1. Oversee and administer the annual operating budget developed by the Finance Committee, providing operational controls, timely financial reporting, and fiscal accountability. 2. Ensure responsible stewardship organizational resources and assets, while leveraging the same for expanded revenue streams. 3. Work with the Board to identify long-term financial sustainability strategies. Fundraising & Resource Development 1. Serve as NHSCOT's chief staff fundraiser and relationship builder, while working with the Board to build a strong culture of philanthropy and relationship stewardship throughout
NHSCOT. 2.
Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with donors, corporations, foundations, sponsors, grant makers, and partners. 3. Ability to build relationships with Scottish organizations, educational institutions, tourism organizations, government agencies, and strategic partners. Programming Leadership 1. Serve as the primary staff leader for the annual Highland Games & Festival. 2. Lead planning, budgeting, logistics, marketing, risk management, compliance, vendor relations, and evaluation. 3. Foster partnerships that expand programming, visibility, and community engagement 12 months a year. Marketing, Communications & Public Relations 1. Serve as NHSCOT's chief spokesperson and public representative. 2. Guide marketing, branding, advertising, media relations, and communications. 3. Represent NHSCOT at public events, meetings, media interviews, and community gatherings. 4. Promote awareness of NHSCOT's mission and impact throughout New Hampshire, New England, and beyond. Facility Development 1. Oversee year-round schedule of cultural, educational, and community programs. 2. Manage the continued development of the organization's real estate as NHSCOT's permanent headquarters. 3. Ensure proper stewardship, maintenance, capital improvements, rentals, and operational use of the property including compliance with safety, accessibility, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Human Resources & Volunteer Leadership 1. Recruit, supervise, mentor, support, and evaluate staff, contractors, consultants, and volunteers. 2. Foster a positive, collaborative, mission-driven organizational culture.

$88,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
