Madison, Wisconsin / hybrid Employment status: Full-time The Opportunity SpayVac for Wildlife, Inc. is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the company through its next stage of development, regulatory approval, commercialization, revenue generation, and growth. The CEO will serve as the company's visionary and principal external representative, setting strategic direction and advancing SpayVac's portfolio of single-dose animal fertility control vaccines across wildlife, production animal, companion animal, and other priority applications. The ideal candidate will bring experience or significant understanding in the animal health industry, including strategic decision-making, product development, regulatory pathways, commercialization, fundraising, financial management, and partnership development. Experience taking animal health products through FDA and/or USDA regulatory processes is particularly important. What the CEO Will Lead 1. Vision, Strategy, and Portfolio Direction Define and execute SpayVac's long-term vision, corporate strategy, product direction, portfolio priorities, and measures of success. Set product vision and portfolio direction across wildlife, production animal, companion animal, and other priority applications, applying deep animal health industry experience, market knowledge, and commercialization insight to prioritize highest-value opportunities. 2. Financing, Financial Stewardship, and Investor Relations Lead financing and fundraising strategy, investor relationships, financial forecasting, capitalization planning, and cash-runway management. Ensure responsible resource allocation, accurate financial reporting, appropriate internal controls, and clear reporting to the Board. 3. Revenue Generation, Business Development, and Commercialization Set revenue targets and execute commercialization strategies through licensing, partnerships, product sales, distribution, and other appropriate channels. Build a qualified commercial pipeline and identify, negotiate, and close significant partnerships, investments, and strategic transactions. 4. Intellectual Property Strategy and Portfolio Management Develop and oversee IP strategy, protection, portfolio management, and licensing in alignment with product and commercial priorities. 5. Regulatory Strategy Provide executive oversight of regulatory strategy and agency interactions, including APHIS, FDA, EPA, USDA and other authorities. Bring experience with, or substantial knowledge of, obtaining a NADA with FDA and/or regulatory pathways for veterinary biologics with APHIS to establish efficient approval pathways, anticipate risks, and ensure studies satisfy regulatory and commercial objectives. 6. Product Advancement and Manufacturing Provide strategic leadership across SpayVac's animal health vaccine pipeline development, guiding products from research and proof of concept through clinical development, regulatory approval, manufacturing scale-up, and commercialization. Evaluate scientific feasibility, commercial potential, cost, and time to market while overseeing scalable manufacturing, quality-system readiness, supplychain risk, capacity, and cost of goods. 7. Board Governance, Legal Affairs, and Enterprise Risk Serve as the primary management liaison to the Board, support informed governance, execute Board-approved strategy, and oversee significant legal, contractual, compliance, and enterprise-risk matters. 8. Executive Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness Build and lead a high-performing executive team; establish clear accountability, decision rights, milestones, and performance expectations; and scale organizational capabilities for growth. 9. External Leadership and Corporate Reputation Serve as SpayVac's principal spokesperson and build trusted relationships with investors, partners, regulators, customers, industry groups, media, and other stakeholders. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, veterinary medicine, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Significant executive or senior leadership experience in the animal health, veterinary pharmaceutical, biologics, or vaccine industry. Experience advancing animal health products through development; FDA and/or USDA regulatory approval, including the NADA process or comparable veterinary biologics pathways. manufacturing scale-up; quality system development; and commercialization. Established relationships within animal health, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, wildlife management, government, or investment communities. Demonstrated success setting strategy and leading an early-stage or growthstage organization through significant development, revenue-generation, financing, partnership, or commercialization milestones. Experience raising capital and working effectively with investors, boards, and other sophisticated stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to develop and close complex partnerships, licensing arrangements, or other strategic agreements. Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, cash-runway management, resource allocation, and interpretation of financial statements. Strong executive judgment, integrity, communication skills, and ability to lead across scientific, regulatory, operational, and commercial disciplines. Preferred Qualifications Experience launching animal vaccines or veterinary biologics, particularly with immunology-based products. Experience with additional regulatory authorities relevant to animal-health products, such as EPA, APVMA, or comparable international agencies. Experience developing and managing IP strategy in biotechnology, vaccines, animal health, pharmaceuticals, or another innovation-driven industry. Experience operating in an entrepreneurial environment and scaling organizational systems as thecompany grows.
