YesPOSITION SUMMARY
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) works closely with Maniilaq Division Directors, Administrative Leadership and leadership teams within Maniilaq to become familiar with the organization and assists with efforts that serve to address operational challenges and improve efficiencies throughout the organization. As a member of the Maniilaq Executive Leadership Team (MELT), works collaboratively with MELT colleagues to provide organization-wide leadership. Represents Maniilaq at various local, State and Federal levels to further Maniilaq's Mission & Vision. Provides reports to the Maniilaq Board of Directors during regular and other meetings of the board. The position is Kotzebue-based, and reports directly to the President/CEO.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Invests the time and energy needed in the first 6 to 12 months to become familiar with all facets of Maniilaq. Develops effective working relationships with Maniilaq leadership and respective leadership teams in all of Maniilaqs divisions. Works closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on funding sources, budget preparation, long-term financial planning, and other efforts to reach fiscal goals. Works closely with the Tribal Government Services VP to better understand the needs of Maniilaq's supporting Tribes. Works closely with the Maniilaq Health Services VP and Social Services VP to understand and assist with achieving the strategic theme, Improve Local Access to High Quality Services . Attends local, state and national meetings/conferences to gain increased understanding of the many roles Maniilaq has as a Tribal Health Organization (THO) and the sole health provider in the Maniilaq Service Area (MSA). Participates in regular and special meetings of the Maniilaq Board of Directors and helps with communication of administrative needs, challenges and successes to the Maniilaq Board. Will work with the P/CEO on assuming supervisory roles over select departments in the organization. Oversees the day-to-day affairs of the Association as delegated by the President/CEO in his/her absence.Job Qualifications:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS A
Master's degree in business, health care administration, public health or related field required, and three years of relevant work experience in executive leadership roles and five years of demonstrated supervisory experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Desire to be an effective Team player to provide leadership and direction for the organization. Ability to identify key operational needs, opportunities, and solutions that contribute to Maniilaq's Mission, Strategic Goals & Objectives that in turn lead to Healthy people, thriving communities .
