Overseeing a small staff of Administrators, this role works with a high degree of independence, supporting highly complex enterprise applications, systems, and cloud environments to ensure reliable operations and provide effective issue resolution. The position applies advanced knowledge of enterprise system and application administration, cloud operations, production support, and related operational practices to address complex, ambiguous, or undefined problems and provide leadership across significant operational activities and initiatives. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, initiative, independent judgment and problem-solving, and effective communication. This position collaborates across technical and functional teams and vendors to coordinate resources and influence successful operational outcomes. Essential Functions Problem Resolution & Incident Management (30%) Serves as a principal operational resource for the Enterprise Applications Team; independently analyzes highly complex and ambiguous problems requiring comprehensive knowledge of assigned areas and broad understanding of systems, applications, and operational dependencies; determines operational approaches when established solutions or precedents are not adequate; anticipates significant problem areas and associated risks; evaluates alternative approaches and broader operational impacts; drives significant incidents and problems to resolution; coordinates resources across technical, functional, and vendor areas; provides operational leadership for incident prevention, response, resolution, and follow-up. System Administration and Vendor Management (25%) Serves as the primary operational point of contact with Oracle and assigned vendors for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and other assigned Enterprise Applications Team-supported applications and technologies; provides principal-level operational direction for highly complex system administration activities involving multiple systems, platforms, dependencies, or organizational areas; applies comprehensive knowledge of assigned environments and broad technical and operational knowledge to independently evaluate ambiguous or undefined requirements, assess risks and dependencies, determine or recommend appropriate solutions and approaches, coordinate specialized expertise, and drives complex SRs, RFCs, maintenance activities, operational changes, vendor escalations, significant support matters, and cross-functional operational issues through resolution. Leadership, Communication & Reporting (20%) Supervises, assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of staff; establishes accountability for assigned responsibilities and deliverables; identifies development and succession needs; provides coaching, mentoring, leadership, cross-training, and development opportunities; provides principal-level consultation, builds consensus, facilitates communication across organizational areas, helps resolve complex or sensitive operational matters, and influences decisions involving significant operational and technology matters; communicates significant operational impacts, risks, recommendations, strategic considerations, and complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences, including vendors, management, and executive leadership, and develops and reviews professional reports, presentations, dashboards, recommendations, and other executive-level communications. Project & Initiative Support (15%) Provides principal-level operational leadership for Enterprise Applications Team responsibilities on large and complex projects and initiatives involving multiple systems, technical disciplines, organizational areas, or enterprise stakeholders; independently evaluates complex or undefined requirements, dependencies, risks, operational impacts, and solution alternatives; determines or recommends approaches requiring comprehensive knowledge and independent judgment; coordinates appropriate staff, technical specialists, vendors, and stakeholders; leads or coordinates team responsibilities for major migrations, upgrades, audits, disaster recovery initiatives, implementations, RFIs, RFPs, and other significant enterprise initiatives. Documentation, Continuous Improvement & Administrative Operations (10%) Establishes, develops, reviews, and improves operational documentation, procedures, standards, and support practices for assigned Enterprise Applications Team-supported systems and technologies; evaluates broader operational practices, recurring issues, technology trends, risks, barriers, and opportunities for improvement and independently develops, recommends, or coordinates solutions that improve operational effectiveness across assigned systems, processes, or organizational areas; establishes expectations for documentation, knowledge transfer, staff development, operational readiness, continuity, and continuous improvement; participates in committees and cross-functional initiatives; performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution with seven (7) years of system and application administration experience in areas related to assignment. OR An equivalent combination of education, experience and/or certification as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Technical certifications may be used towards the substitution of the above-mentioned requirements for education and/or experience. Substitution amounts for certifications are based on the duration of time it takes to obtain the certification, the difficulty to obtain the certification, and/or the desirability of the certification as related to the business needs of the assignment. Desired Qualifications Experience providing advanced operational leadership for complex enterprise cloud environments, such as OCI, including administration, operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, configuration, and coordination across systems or support areas. Experience providing advanced operational leadership and coordination for significant vendor issues, escalations, changes, and support matters involving enterprise systems and multiple stakeholders, including driving vendor actions and issues through resolution. Experience leading resolution of highly complex, significant, or cross-functional enterprise application incidents and operational problems, including situations involving ambiguity, multiple dependencies, competing risks, and coordination across technical, functional, and vendor resources. Experience serving in a formal supervisory role, including assigning and reviewing work, establishing accountability, coaching and developing staff, conducting performance evaluations, and providing operational leadership. Experience providing advanced operational oversight for complex production enterprise applications and technologies, including significant upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery, operational readiness, and cross-system dependencies. Experience providing operational leadership for large and complex cross-functional initiatives involving multiple systems, technical disciplines, organizational areas, vendors, or enterprise stakeholders. Experience developing, reviewing, and establishing operational standards, documentation, recommendations, and management/executive communications involving complex operational or technology matters. Experience using productivity and data-analysis tools to develop management-level analyses, dashboards, reports, presentations, and decision-support information regarding operational or technical matters.
