Job Description

Job Summary The Vice President, Operations is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of a multi-site logistics network, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and organizational growth. This executive will lead regional Directors and General Managers while partnering with executive leadership to develop and execute enterprise strategies that improve profitability, scalability, operational efficiency, and customer value. The ideal candidate is an accomplished operations executive with demonstrated success leading large, complex logistics organizations through transformation, continuous improvement, and profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence & Network Performance
  • Provide leadership for a multi-site logistics network, ensuring consistent execution across all facilities while achieving performance expectations in safety, quality, service, productivity, and cost.
  • Establish performance expectations and accountability through KPI governance, operational reviews, and disciplined execution.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts to eliminate operational constraints, improve throughput, and enhance customer experience. Financial Leadership & Business Performance
  • Own divisional P&L performance, including revenue growth, gross margin, EBITDA, budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and resource allocation.
  • Identify and execute initiatives that improve profitability through productivity improvements, labor optimization, contract performance, and cost management.
  • Develop financial business cases and ROI analyses supporting operational investments, automation, and strategic initiatives. Customer & Commercial Leadership
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for customer relationships, building trusted partnerships with executive stakeholders across key accounts.
  • Partner with Business Development to support new customer pursuits, solution design, customer onboarding, and account expansion opportunities.
  • Resolve complex operational and commercial issues while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction and long-term client retention.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Finance, Engineering, IT, HR, and Sales to improve business performance and customer value.
  • Champion the adoption of operational technologies, automation, business intelligence, and process improvements that drive sustainable competitive advantage.

  • Recruit, develop, coach, and mentor Directors, and future organizational leaders to build a strong leadership pipeline and succession plan.

  • Establish clear performance expectations while conducting regular performance evaluations, coaching, and leadership development initiatives.

  • Establish a data-driven operating system utilizing executive dashboards, KPIs, financial reporting, and operational scorecards to drive business performance.
  • Monitor operational and financial trends to identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions across the network.
  • Ensure governance, compliance, and execution of company policies, customer contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
  • Provide regular executive updates on operational performance, strategic initiatives, financial results, and key business risks to the Executive Leadership Team.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related discipline; MBA or Master's degree preferred. 2. Minimum 12 years of progressive operations leadership experience, including at least 8 years leading multi-site distribution, fulfillment, reverse logistics, or omnichannel operations at the Director level or above. 3. Demonstrated success leading large-scale, multi-site operations with full P&L responsibility and accountability for financial and operational performance. 4. Proven expertise implementing Operational Excellence methodologies, including Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Standard Work, Root Cause Analysis, and continuous improvement programs. 5. Exceptional financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, EBITDA improvement, capital investments, ROI analysis, and margin expansion initiatives. 6. Experience leading executive customer relationships with Fortune 500 organizations, including Quarterly Business Reviews, contract negotiations, operational escalations, and strategic account growth. 7. Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change, standardize operations across multiple facilities, and successfully execute enterprise transformation initiatives. 8. Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging KPIs, business intelligence, dashboards, and operational reporting to drive decision-making and accountability. 9. Experience evaluating and implementing warehouse technologies including WMS, LMS, ERP, automation, robotics, and business intelligence platforms is preferred. 10. Outstanding executive communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels. 11. Strong leadership presence with a demonstrated ability to coach senior leaders, build high-performing teams, and develop succession plans. 12. Willingness to travel approximately 25-40% to support operations, customers, and strategic initiatives.

From $150,000.00 per year
