We are not looking for a traditional dispatcher. We are looking for someone who has deep experience in the Los Angeles/Long Beach drayage market, strong industry relationships, and an established network within the local owner-operator community. The right individual understands the market from the ground up — ports, terminals, drivers, owner-operators, customers, capacity, rates, equipment, and the daily challenges of moving high volumes through LA/LB. What You'll Do Help lead day-to-day drayage operations in the LA/LB market Dispatch and coordinate high-volume port and local container movements Work directly with owner-operators and company drivers Develop and expand our local owner-operator capacity network Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers and carriers Maximize truck utilization and driver productivity Coordinate pre-pulls, empty returns, appointments, deliveries, and yard moves Work directly with customers and internal operations teams Troubleshoot port, terminal, equipment, driver, and service issues Provide market intelligence on capacity, rates, driver availability, and competitive conditions Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency and grow the operation Who We're Looking For Significant hands-on experience in LA/LB port drayage Strong existing relationships within the Southern California owner-operator community Deep knowledge of the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and their terminals Strong understanding of local drayage rates, capacity, driver expectations, and market conditions Experience working with both owner-operators and company drivers Strong dispatch, load planning, and problem-solving capabilities Excellent relationship-building and communication skills Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving, high-volume environment Previous experience with a well-established drayage, intermodal, trucking, or logistics company preferred Multilingual candidates strongly preferred The Person We're Looking For You should already know this market. You understand how LA/LB drayage works, have relationships within the owner-operator community, know how to earn drivers' trust, and understand what it takes to keep trucks productive. You should be equally comfortable working with drivers in the yard, coordinating port operations, speaking with customers, developing capacity, negotiating with owner-operators, and working with senior leadership to improve the operation. This is an opportunity for an experienced drayage professional to take on a high-impact role within a large and growing transportation organization.
