Chief Operating Officer Towson Orthopaedic Associates The Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for a multi-site orthopaedic healthcare organization, overseeing clinical, administrative, and business functions across three locations and a workforce of more than 100 employees. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the COO is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while driving operational excellence, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and long-term growth. The COO will work closely with the Board President and maintain strong alignment with UM St. Joseph Medical Center leadership. Financial and Business Operations Provide oversight of TOA's budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, operational reporting, and financial performance. Collaborate closely with UM St. Joseph Medical Group finance leadership and the practice's external accounting firm. Oversee TOA's banking, cash management, disbursements, reconciliations, accounts payable, payroll, employee benefits, and 401(k) responsibilities, as applicable. Monitor financial and operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, contain costs, and increase revenue. Present financial performance, key performance indicators, and strategic recommendations to the Board. Coordinate with internal and external accounting, finance, audit, and consulting resources. Growth, Partnerships, and External Relations Support the organization's strategic growth initiatives in collaboration with the Board and UM St. Joseph Medical Center leadership. Maintain productive relationships with payers, vendors, community partners, and other key stakeholders. Collaborate with the UM St. Joseph Medical Center marketing team on marketing, communications, and public-relations initiatives while continuing to support TOA's practice-level marketing efforts. Represent the organization with government agencies, third-party payers, professional organizations, and other external stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field required; master's degree preferred. Significant senior-level operational leadership experience within a multi-site physician practice or comparable healthcare organization. Demonstrated experience in financial management, healthcare operations, human resources, regulatory compliance, and organizational leadership. Experience working within an integrated health system or physician-hospital affiliation strongly preferred. Epic experience preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, decision-making, and Board-relations skills.
