Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Retail to lead our cannabis dispensary operations with energy, innovation, and a focus on excellence. In this pivotal role, you will oversee multiple retail locations, driving business growth, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer experiences. As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will shape the strategic direction of our retail footprint, foster a high-performing team, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Your leadership will energize teams and propel our brand forward in a rapidly evolving market. Reports to NativeCare CEO. Full-time, salary position with benefits. Band Member and Native American preference observed. Salary DOE. Duties Develop and execute comprehensive retail strategies aligned with company goals to maximize revenue and market share Lead, motivate, and develop senior management teams across multiple dispensary locations to ensure operational excellence and high employee engagement Oversee operational management including inventory control, compliance adherence, customer service standards, and sales performance Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, finance, and compliance teams to streamline processes and implement best practices Manage executive-level budgets, financial planning, and data-driven decision-making to optimize profitability Drive business development initiatives by identifying new market opportunities and building strategic partnerships Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and team productivity Lead negotiations with vendors, partners, and regulatory bodies to support business growth and compliance requirements Skills Knowledge of Dutchie POS, DISTRU and METRC Proven management experience in retail or similar fast-paced environments with a focus on cannabis or regulated industries Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams at all levels and foster a culture of continuous improvement Expertise in strategic planning, project management, and operational management to meet ambitious business objectives Excellent verbal communication skills tailored for engaging with executives, stakeholders, and team members Financial acumen including budgeting, financial analysis, and operational cost control Ability to make data-driven decisions that align with strategic goals and market trends Skilled in negotiation, business development, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration Experience managing large teams through change management initiatives while maintaining high morale
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, or Retail Management preferred
- Minimum of four years of retail cannabis dispensary management required
- Current driver's license, clean driving record, auto insurance, regular and consistent access to a motor vehicle
- Must meet licensing requirements with Red Lake Tribal Regulatory Cannabis Agency and pass tribal, state and federal background checks
- Knowledge and/or experience in the cannabis industry is required
