Operational Strategy & Financial Performance Job Title :
Regional Chief Operating Officer (Regional COO - Assisted Living)
Location :
NY / NJ Metro Area (Regional Oversight of Assisted Living Portfolio)
Salary :
$275k - $325k+ (Commensurate with experience)
Job Summary :
We are seeking a visionary, results-driven Regional Chief Operating Officer to spearhead the operational and financial success of our premier Assisted Living buildings. This executive role provides oversight and strategic direction for a newly acquired portfolio of assisted living communities across the NY/NJ region, navigating the entire lifecycle of growth from initial takeover through long-term operational excellence. The Regional COO is responsible for the "bottom line" of the region—driving census growth, managing labor costs, maintaining an elevated standard of care, and mentoring building-level leadership to achieve top-tier operational excellence. We are looking for a veteran multi-site executive who can translate corporate goals into facility-level success while fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and clinical pride. Key Responsibilities P&L Responsibility:
Full accountability for the financial performance of the regional assisted living portfolio, including budget development, expense management, and achieving NOI (Net Operating Income) targets.
Census & Revenue Growth:
Partner with regional marketing and admissions teams to drive occupancy and optimize private-pay and specialized care mix.
Standardization:
Implement unified operational protocols across the region to ensure every building meets our group's high standards for hospitality and efficiency.
Leadership & Talent Development Executive Mentorship:
Supervise and mentor facility-level leadership. You will be responsible for their professional development, retention, and performance reviews.
Problem Solving:
Act as the primary resource for facility-level leaders when facing complex operational, regulatory, or family-related challenges.
Succession Planning:
Identify and groom "up-and-coming" leaders within the communities to ensure a strong pipeline for future growth.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management Survey Readiness:
Partner with clinical leadership to ensure every community is survey-ready 365 days a year while upholding pristine quality standards.
Physical Plant Oversight:
Collaborate with facility maintenance directors to ensure life safety compliance and oversight of capital improvement and renovation projects.
Qualifications and Experience Executive Multi-Site Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of Regional/Multi-site operational leadership experience managing Assisted Living or senior housing portfolios.
Market Knowledge:
Deep understanding of the NY/NJ senior living landscape and regional regulatory environment.
Proven Financial Success:
A documented track record of managing large-scale takeovers, improving census, reducing labor costs, and scaling multi-site operations.
Cultural Alignment:
A master-level operator who aligns with a high-standard, boutique approach emphasizing elite care and exceptional retention.
Travel:
Willingness to travel regularly across the NY/NJ portfolio.
