GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County (CP Nassau) is seeking an accomplished, energetic and mission-driven Assistant Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our executive leadership team. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced professional who can help lead a complex, multi-faceted nonprofit human services organization. Working closely with the Executive Director/CEO, the COO will provide leadership and oversight across key areas of the Agency, strengthen operations and help shape the organization's future.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
The Assistant Executive Director/COO serves as an advisor to the Executive Director/CEO, helping translate organizational priorities and policies into effective operations. The COO will work closely with senior leadership, the Board of Directors, staff and community and government partners, while developing a comprehensive understanding of the organization through hands-on involvement and immersion in its programs, people and culture.
QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree in a human services, business, management, or related field preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible administrative and leadership experience, with responsibilities of comparable scope and complexity. Demonstrated experience in nonprofit and/or human services operations. Proven ability to lead senior managers and multidisciplinary teams within a complex organization. Demonstrated ability to provide visionary leadership, foster a positive and engaged organizational culture, inspire others around a shared purpose, and translate vision into action.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide leadership, operational guidance and forward-thinking support to the Executive Director/CEO and senior leadership team. Supervise and develop senior managers, strengthen leadership capacity, and promote accountability and collaboration across departments. Help formulate and implement organizational policies, priorities and initiatives. Lead and coordinate multiple projects, ensuring goals, deliverables and timelines are achieved. Evaluate operations, identify best practices and opportunities for improvement, and advance continuous quality improvement and data-driven decision-making. Partner with the Executive Director/CEO and CFO in budget development, financial review and organizational planning. Participate in significant personnel decisions, management development and organizational training initiatives. Build productive relationships with the Board of Directors, staff, families and other stakeholders, community partners, government representatives and legislative leaders. Maintain knowledge of evolving regulatory, legislative and healthcare/human services trends affecting the organization. Join our Team and Make a Difference!
