An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

ELEMENTARY TEACHER SALARY
: Bachelor $54,308.70; Master $59,847.63 PLUSFULL BENEFITS REQUIREMENTS
NYS Certification Grades 1-6 Bachelor Degree Master Degree preferredDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect, analyze and disseminate assessment data in all subject areas Interpret reading assessments to plan for and choose appropriate forms of interventions to help remediate the difficulties Conduct on-going formal and informal assessments to monitor progress of students Work with grade level teachers to develop strategies to maximize student performance and progress Design and utilize lesson plans using smart board technology Develop student's cognitive capacity and respect for learning Plan for and guides the learning process to help students achieve program objectives Implement useful diagnostic and progress assessment measures Take part in Data Team Meetings Engages in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job related knowledge and skill development Responsible for the development of yearly personal and program goals Maintain required records and reports to document growth and development throughout the year and share with the staff Assist the Principal on additional projects as requested including any other activities that will be helpful for the success of the schoolAPPLY NOW!
