Job Description

VP of Finance and Operations Our client is seeking a hands-on and collaborative VP of Finance and Operations to provide financial leadership while helping strengthen the systems and processes that support a mission-driven organization. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with a practical, improvement-oriented mindset and is comfortable moving between strategic decision-making, detailed financial work, and cross-functional operational needs. This role is on-site in Portland, Oregon. VP of Finance and Operations Responsibilities Oversee month end close processes ensuring timely completion. Review accounting transactions for accuracy and compliance. Assist with preparing journal entries and reconciliations. Prepare/analyze financial statements and handle annual budget preparations. Collaborate with other departments to manage endowment funds and handle special tuition arrangements. Monitor departmental spending and identify cost-saving opportunities. Assist payroll service provider in processing payroll. Lead continuous accounting process and facility improvements. VP of Finance and Operations Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. 5+ years of relevant accounting and operational experience. Exposure to non-profit or similar industry a plus. Tech-savvy with financial systems/reporting software and the ability to learn new systems quickly. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Salary:
$100K-$150K/year.
