Vice President of Operations Confidential Restaurant Concept | Multi-Unit Operations Position Overview A growing, multi-unit Mexican cuisine restaurant concept is seeking an experienced Vice President of Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across its restaurant portfolio. This executive will be responsible for driving consistent execution, improving restaurant-level profitability, developing high-performing leaders, and supporting the continued growth of the brand. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, people-focused operations leader with extensive multi-unit restaurant experience and a demonstrated ability to strengthen performance across geographically dispersed locations. Experience leading a Mexican cuisine, fast-casual, casual dining, or high-volume restaurant concept is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and direction for all restaurant operations. Lead, coach, and develop regional, area, and restaurant-level operations leaders. Establish clear expectations and accountability for sales, profitability, guest satisfaction, food quality, labor management, and operational execution. Analyze financial and operational performance to identify trends, address gaps, and implement sustainable improvements. Drive same-store sales growth while protecting brand standards and the guest experience. Partner with executive leadership to develop short- and long-term operational strategies. Oversee annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts, and restaurant-level performance goals. Strengthen talent pipelines through succession planning, leadership development, and retention initiatives. Ensure consistent execution of food safety, workplace safety, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements. Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Training, Development, Supply Chain, and other support teams. Support new restaurant openings, acquisitions, market expansion, remodels, and operational integrations. Evaluate existing systems and processes and introduce scalable solutions that improve efficiency and consistency. Maintain a strong field presence by regularly visiting restaurants and engaging directly with operations teams. Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and exceptional hospitality. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive restaurant operations experience. At least 5 years of senior leadership experience overseeing a large multi-unit restaurant portfolio. Experience within Mexican cuisine, fast-casual, casual dining, or another high-volume restaurant environment strongly preferred. Proven success improving sales, profitability, operational standards, and guest satisfaction. Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including P&L management, labor optimization, food cost, budgeting, and forecasting. Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and improve underperforming markets or locations. Experience developing regional and district-level leaders and building succession pipelines. Strong executive presence with excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills. Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational leadership. Experience supporting new unit growth, acquisitions, or brand integration is preferred. Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout the restaurant portfolio.
