$32.00 - $50.00 per hour (dependent on experience, qualifications, and VA approval) Position Overview Kaleidoscope Supply Services supports the staffing of this position on behalf of a client company. If selected, you will be employed directly by the client—not Kaleidoscope, the VA, or the federal government. This role supports a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) federal contract. You will work alongside VA teams to help deliver services that support veterans and the VA's mission. About the Role We are seeking a detail oriented Drafter to support our Contracted Temporary Staff Architect. In this role, you will assist with maintaining and updating campus building and utility documentation, ensuring architectural and utility records are accurate, current, and compliant. Working under the direction of the Staff Architect, you will support documentation efforts across multiple software platforms, including AutoCAD, Revit, and ZLink. Key Responsibilities Provide drafting support for campus projects by creating and revising detailed drawings and documentation. Maintain the \"Drawing Room\" and coordinate all documentation changes to ensure version control and data integrity. Regularly update architectural plans to reflect moves, renovations, or new construction. Ensure all drawings and modifications follow applicable building codes, healthcare design standards, and safety criteria. Work closely with the Staff Architect to translate conceptual designs into technical documentation. Review and interpret complex blueprints and schematics to identify necessary updates or potential conflicts. Assist in the coordination of document sets for construction and utility projects, ensuring all stakeholders have the most current information. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 5 years of commercial drafting experience. Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, drafting or a related technical field. Knowledge of healthcare design standards, codes, and safety criteria. Proven ability to review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings. Skilled in freeform and scaled drawing techniques. Minimum 3 years AutoCAD, 3 years Revit, and 1 year Microsoft Office Suite experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordination with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders. Proficiency in ZLink or similar facility management software. LEED Certification is highly preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordination with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders. Experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Teams is a plus. Contract Details This position supports a federal nonpersonal services contract with the VA. The anticipated contract term includes one base year with up to two optional renewal years, subject to funding, performance, and government needs. As part of the federal approval process, the VA may review resumes and may request interviews. Final placement and start date are contingent upon VA approval. While Kaleidoscope Supply Services manages the staffing process, the employer of record will be the client company supporting the VA contract.Compensation Hourly pay:
you are paid only for hours worked. No paid holidays (holiday pay is not reimbursed by the government for this role). No paid time off (PTO) is included. Overtime is not permitted unless pre-approved by both the client and the VA. This compensation structure is standard for federal nonpersonal services contract positions. Benefits This type of federal contract does not include government funded benefits. In alignment with contract requirements and standard industry practices: Medical, dental, and vision insurance are not included Retirement plans are not included No employer sponsored benefits are offered for this position Employment Requirements Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background checks, drug and alcohol screening, and onboarding or training.
