Job Summary The Government Business Capture Manager for Space & Defense is responsible for identifying, qualifying, shaping, and capturing strategic business opportunities across Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), Civil Space, and other Federal markets. This role supports revenue growth by driving both near-term contract awards and long-term strategic positioning aligned to Sidus Space's capabilities in satellite manufacturing, hosted payloads, mission systems integration, space-based data, in-space services, and resilient space infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of the federal acquisition lifecycle and is capable of building relationships across government, industry, and internal technical teams to position Sidus Space for successful contract capture and long-term market expansion. Success in this role is measured by qualified pipeline growth, strategic customer engagement, capture progression, contract awards, and the ability to position Sidus early in customer planning and acquisition cycles. This position is open to candidates around the Space Coast, FL or Washington D.C. areas. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Identify, qualify, and pursue strategic opportunities across defense, intelligence, civil, and federal space markets aligned with Sidus Space capabilities and growth objectives. Support and execute capture strategies from early opportunity identification through proposal submission and contract award. Build and maintain relationships with government stakeholders, prime contractors, integrators, and strategic industry partners. Shape opportunities prior to solicitation release through customer engagement, capability alignment, and mission-focused solution development. Coordinate with engineering, operations, manufacturing, and executive leadership to align technical capabilities with customer mission requirements. Develop and maintain account plans, capture plans, competitive assessments, and opportunity qualification documentation. Monitor federal budgets, acquisition forecasts, contract vehicles, and procurement activity relevant to Sidus Space growth areas. Assist in the development of white papers, Requests for Information (RFI) responses, capability briefings, and proposal content. Support teaming strategies and partnership development for both prime and subcontract opportunities. Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and opportunity tracking within CRM and business development systems. Represent Sidus Space at customer engagements, industry conferences, technical forums, and government events. Collaborate with proposals, contracts, and marketing teams to support disciplined pursuit execution and corporate growth objectives. Support strategic market expansion initiatives in emerging mission areas including resilient space architecture, autonomous systems, AI-enabled edge processing, ISR, communications, and space domain awareness. •Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree required; technical, engineering, aerospace, business, or related discipline preferred. 3-7 years of experience in business development, capture management, government programs, defense contracting, military operations, aerospace, or related technical environments. Experience supporting or pursuing Federal Government, DoD, IC, or Civil Space opportunities preferred. Familiarity with the federal acquisition lifecycle, including FAR-based procurements, OTAs, IDIQs, GWACs, SBIR/STTR, or related contracting mechanisms. Experience supporting technical solutions, mission systems, aerospace platforms, ISR, communications, autonomy, or advanced technology programs is preferred. Prior military, government, intelligence community, or aerospace industry experience is highly desired. Required Qualifications Ability to identify and qualify strategic business opportunities aligned to corporate growth objectives and technical capabilities. Demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships with government customers, industry partners, and internal technical stakeholders. Strong understanding of customer mission requirements and the ability to translate technical capabilities into operational value. Ability to support capture activities including opportunity shaping, competitive analysis, teaming strategies, and win strategy development. Working knowledge of the Federal procurement environment and government acquisition processes. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage executive, operational, acquisition, and technical audiences. Ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, operations, manufacturing, contracts, and executive leadership teams. Strong organizational and analytical skills with disciplined pipeline and CRM management practices. Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with evolving priorities. Willingness to travel in support of customer engagements, conferences, and strategic business activities. U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and/or maintain a U.S. security clearance preferred.
