Material Specialist - John Deere Waterloo Works This is a critical, long-term 1+ year contract opportunity paying up to $25/hr , including 1 week of PTO . In this role, you will act as a vital link in the manufacturing process, spending half of your time on the shop floor and the other half managing the logistics and data that keep production lines moving.

Position Details & Compensation Pay Rate:

Up to $25/hr (W2).

Location:

100% Onsite in Waterloo, IA.

Duration:

1+ Year.

Shift:

1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM).

Overtime:

Potential for extended weekday hours or weekend work; candidates must be flexible to work off-shift hours if needed.

Metatarsal safety boots are required on Day 1.

Core Responsibilities Material Coordination:

Manage and oversee the flow of materials to ensure production schedules are met without interruption.

Shop Floor Operations:

Spend 50% of your time active on the shop floor , interacting with production teams to resolve material shortages or discrepancies.

Data Management:

Utilize Microsoft Excel and other computer systems to track inventory, analyze data, and summarize material requirements.

Logistics Support:

Once trained, you may operate a John Deere-owned Gator on the shop floor to transport materials or tools.

Inter-site Collaboration:

Travel between various Waterloo sites for meetings using your personal vehicle as required.

Required Skills & Experience Education:

A 4-year degree in a Business-related field is highly preferred.

Technical Savvy:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel , and strong general computer skills.

Communication:

Excellent interpersonal skills for professional interaction with internal teams and suppliers.

Experience Profile:

Open to recent graduates; however, preference is given to candidates with 3-5 years of post-graduation work history .

Environment Comfort:

Must be comfortable working in a high-traffic manufacturing environment and wearing all required PPE. What Makes You Stand Out Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial supply chain environment. A proven track record of managing inventory data and performing root-cause analysis for material gaps. A "team-first" work ethic and the ability to pivot priorities quickly based on production needs.
