Job Description

The Proposal Manager will collaborate and support the Proposal Team, Estimating, Business Development, Marketing and other departments with company-wide proposal efforts. The Proposal Manager will manage specific pursuits within assigned markets including workload management, supervision and mentorship of assigned staff. Mentor and review proposal deliverables of peer and/or less experienced proposal team members. The Proposal Manager will report directly to the Senior Proposal Manager. This is a hands-on position that requires the individual to work harmoniously with various departments as well as project team members, subcontractors, and clients during the performance of their duties. This position has the opportunity to work remotely with occasional travel. Job Responsibilities Manage assigned proposal team members, providing workload management, supervision, and mentorship to the team. Prepare responses to Request for Information (RFI), Qualifications (RFQ), and Proposals (RFP), as well as project award nominations. Lead proposal review meetings and provide guidance related to clarity, completeness, compliance, and alignment with solution, win strategy and evaluation criteria. Generate customized cover letters, resumes, project profiles, and additional materials for specific opportunities/submissions. Write pursuit specific content and reviews/edit narratives for content clarity, compliance, and messaging. Understand and speak to/present Cianbro's programs. Complete marketing research, organize materials, and present data. Provide suggestions for continuous improvement to the Proposal Team processes and procedures. Assist with additional projects, including the development and maintenance of corporate/company-wide documentation. Qualifications/ Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field or equivalent experience to include at least five years in a fast-paced environment. 10 or more years of experience within the architecture, engineering and construction industry; preferably in proposal, marketing and/or project management roles. Knowledge/familiarity with construction terminology as it relates to contract delivery methods and proposal submittals, etc. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple proposals of increasing complexity for dissimilar companies/agencies simultaneously to a timely and successful completion with limited supervision while maintaining accuracy and with the utmost confidentiality. Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to creatively adapt style to fit the market, project, and target audience. Knowledge/familiarity of construction terminology as it relates to contract delivery methods and proposal submittals, etc. Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, in addition to Adobe InDesign and Acrobat. Must possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills with a personable, professional demeanor and a collaborative attitude. Attention to detail, accuracy, spelling, and correct use of grammar in producing/reviewing high-quality deliverables.
