Job Summary The Sales and Proposal Specialist is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and leading the end-to-end proposal development process. You will translate complex client needs into highly compelling, technical, and commercial sales proposals. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record of writing winning business pitches.
Core Responsibilities Customer management:
Foster current customers and build relationships with new customers. Use CRM tools to track communication build capture plans. Strategically plan out each customers organization and align appropriate contacts within their organization and ours.
Lead Generation:
Identify prospective clients through proactive market research, networking, and cold outreach.
Needs Assessment:
Conduct discovery meetings with potential clients to evaluate business requirements and build deep, consultative relationships.
Proposal Management:
Own the entire proposal lifecycle, including analyzing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), establishing timelines, and organizing content.
Content Creation:
Draft, edit, and design clear, persuasive sales proposals, presentations, and executive summaries.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Coordinate with technical, legal, product, and financial teams to gather data and ensure proposal accuracy.
Pricing & Strategy:
Partner with management to determine profitable price schedules, commercial terms, and competitive positioning.
Deal Closing:
Deliver final presentations, address client inquiries, negotiate contract terms, and successfully close the sale.
Pipeline Tracking:
Maintain complete accuracy of all sales activities, leads, and proposal stages using the company CRM platform.
Required Skills and Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred. Alternatively in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in automotive business, sales, technical writing, or grant and proposal development.
Writing Skills:
Exceptional business writing, proofreading, and editing capabilities with strict attention to detail.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and verbal pitch delivery skills.
Technical Savvy:
Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools like Salesforce and advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Project Management:
Ability to manage tight deadlines, multitask, and work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced corporate environment
