up to $2 7 / hr + overtime Deadline to apply : Friday 16 th October Introduction Working with our reinsurance team in North America you'll learn more about reinsurance broking, risk mitigation solutions, contracts decision making and support our teams, doing real work for Howden Re's current and prospective clients. What you'll be doing Reinsurance is a complex world; the easiest way to think about it is that it's insurance for the insurers. Working with our teams, you'll help insurance companies protect their futures, and the people they insure. As a Contracts Intern, you ' ll learn about the reinsurance contracts process and relationships among reinsurance counterparties as you participate in sending final contract documents to reinsurers and clients for execution and tracking status of the documents . On a day-to-day basis you'll : Review and create PDFs of final Reinsurance Contracts, Interests and Liabilities Agreements, and related documents at direction of the Contracts Wording Team Transmit final Reinsurance Contracts, Interests and Liabilities Agreements, and related documents to ceding companies and reinsurers at direction of the Broking Team Track status of transmitted documents via tracking tool Monitor and manage Transmittal Shared Mailbox in Outlook Prepare regular reports on status of transmitted documents Follow up with outstanding markets for signatures Compile fully executed documents into single PDF files Update contract files with executed documentation Communicate and coordinate with broker, contract drafter, and transmittal specialist as required Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned Who we're looking for You'll be working towards a B achelor's degree in any subject . You'll be able to clearly communicate your thoughts and ideas both in writing and in person . And be able to handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time in a client service, deadline-driven environment.
You will:
Actively p ursuing a Bachelor's degree Have a GPA of 3.0+ Be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Have the ability to explain complex contracts in simple terms so anyone can understand it, either in writing or over the phone Pay close attention to detail , because every small detail matters Legally authorized to work in the US Our Application process Our application process is designed to help you show your potential, not to test what you already know!
