EL1261 The University of Lincoln is seeking to appoint a Contracts & IP Associate to join its Research & Enterprise Department. This post offers strong development opportunities for colleagues looking to build specialist expertise in contracts, intellectual property and commercial activity. As part of the Contracts and Commercialisation team, the role supports the delivery of a responsive and commercially focused contracts service. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and advising on lower-risk contractual arrangements, including consultancy agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and standard service contracts, ensuring alignment with University policies and acceptable risk parameters. You will act as a key point of contact for routine contractual queries, providing clear, pragmatic guidance to academic and professional services colleagues and supporting the timely progression of consultancy and commercial activity. More complex or higher‑risk matters will be escalated appropriately, ensuring robust governance and service continuity. The role also provides operational and administrative support for the University's intellectual property (IP) and commercialisation activities. This includes supporting IP processes and record‑keeping, administering internal funding schemes, and assisting with the progression of early‑stage commercial opportunities that help translate research into income‑generating activity. In addition, you will contribute to team capability and service resilience by providing day‑to‑day guidance and informal support to the Contracts & IP Administrator, as well as identifying opportunities to improve processes, templates and systems. This role would suit an organised and proactive colleague with experience of drafting or reviewing contracts, strong communication skills, and the ability to apply judgement within defined frameworks. Internal applicants with strong transferable skills and an interest in developing specialist expertise in contracts and IP are encouraged to apply. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the University's commercial success while developing your professional capability within a supportive and collaborative team. In support of our commitment to developing colleagues by providing opportunities for internal movement and promotion, applications for this opportunity will only be accepted from people who are currently employed by the University of Lincoln, our current students, and any currently engaged agency workers who have been with us for more than 12 weeks. We actively encourage applications from all colleagues across the University with the relevant skills and experience.
