Rent Administration Associate

Job Description

Job Duties
  • Act as primary liaison between tenants and NYC Section 8 agencies (NYCHA, HPD, DHCR)
  • Perform monthly review of all outstanding Section 8 receivables across portfolio to determine cause of arrears and course of action to recoup monies owed
  • Compile and send reports to Section 8 agencies to request and/or follow up on arrears due to retroactive portion changes, missing payments, contract rent increases, etc.
  • Request and review all Section 8 payment vouchers to confirm accuracy of contract rents, tenant portions, retroactive payments and any suspension or termination of subsidy
  • Maintain rent increase spreadsheet to keep track of all approvals/denials and follow up on any outstanding rent increases submitted
  • Process all rent breakdowns and update Yardi tenant accounts to reflect correct rental charges.
  • Process all
SCRIE/DRIE
breakdowns and update Yardi to reflect correct frozen rent
  • Track all participants of the
SCRIE/DRIE
program to ensure lease renewals are submitted
  • Close out all subsidy balances upon review of tenant vacancies and/or termination Requirements
  • College degree preferred
  • Experience with Excel and MS Office programs
  • Proficient with Yardi Property Management software
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Great deal of patience and ability to follow through on issues until completion
  • Ability to work independently as well as with fellow colleagues
  • Handle time sensitive deadlines
  • Professional attitude and ability to provide excellent customer service Progressive Management is an
