Role Overview:

Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in a search for a Deductions Specialist to join a large, established manufacturer in the packaging industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Receivable/Deductions professional to join a team during a period of significant system integration and organizational change. The Deductions Specialist will manage customer deductions and returns from initial identification through final resolution. This individual will research discrepancies, determine root causes, collaborate with customers and internal departments, and process approved credits and adjustments. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable independently managing a high-volume queue of deductions.

Responsibilities:

Review customer invoices and identify deductions taken against outstanding balances Research and analyze deductions to determine the reason and root cause Investigate discrepancies involving pricing, quantities, damaged products, returns, and other customer claims Review supporting documentation and internal records to validate deductions Contact customers to clarify deductions, obtain additional information, and resolve discrepancies Partner with Pricing, Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Finance teams to research and resolve issues Determine appropriate resolutions based on company policies and supporting documentation Obtain required approvals for credits and adjustments Process approved credits and adjustments in the appropriate systems Maintain accurate documentation of deductions, research, approvals, and resolutions Independently manage a queue of deductions through resolution and follow up on outstanding items Identify recurring issues and trends that may indicate larger pricing, process, or customer service concerns

Qualifications:

Previous experience in Accounts Receivable, Deductions, Cash Applications, Collections, or related accounting functions Strong analytical and investigative skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to research and resolve complex invoice and customer discrepancies Strong communication and customer service skills Experience working with SAP preferred Experience with PROS and/or GetPaid is a plus Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills; comfortable working with established templates and formulas Brilliant Staffing, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages applications from all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
