Do you possess the unique combination of agronomic knowledge, GIS expertise, and technical data processing skills required to translate raw field data into clean, visual stories that demonstrate the real-world value of precision agriculture? As Cerebral Staffing , we are seeking an Agronomy Analytics Specialist to join our team supporting our client, John Deere , in Johnston, IA (with hybrid or fully remote options available). Whether you hold a Master's degree in Precision Agriculture, Agronomy, or Geospatial Analytics paired with hands-on experience in agricultural data, we want to hear from you. Agronomy Analytics Specialist - John Deere (Johnston, IA / Remote) This is a long-term, highly stable 1+ year contract opportunity paying up to $46/hr , including 2 weeks of PTO .
This position offers flexibility:
candidates can work onsite/hybrid out of Johnston, IA or Cary, NC , or work 100% remote (must operate within 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Central Time and travel to Des Moines 1-2 times per year). In this role, you will analyze large-scale agricultural datasets from connected machines, field trials, remote sensing platforms, and environmental sources to quantify the agronomic value of John Deere's advanced technologies.
Position Details & Compensation Pay Rate:
Up to $46/hr (W2) .
Location:
Hybrid in Johnston, IA or Cary, NC — OR 100% Fully Remote (Central Time Zone hours required; 1-2 annual trips to Des Moines, IA).
Duration:
1+ Years (Providing solid contract stability).

Core Responsibilities End-to-End Analytical Projects:
Manage data projects from initial scoping to execution, including spatial processing, statistical modeling, data visualization, and interpretation.
Multisource Agricultural Data Analytics:
Process and analyze machine operational data (planters, sprayers, combines), geospatial data (soil maps, satellite imagery), and environmental inputs (weather, scouting, yield maps).
Technical Communication & Slide Deck Assembly:
Synthesize complex spatial and agronomic analyses into professional, easy-to-understand PowerPoint slide decks, visual summaries, and executive PDFs for marketing and product strategy teams.
Quantifying Technology Value:
Extract actionable insights that demonstrate the measurable value and efficiency gains of precision equipment technologies for internal teams, dealers, and growers.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills The Ideal Blend:
Must possess a true combination of Agronomy knowledge + Geospatial Analytics (pure agronomists without analytics skills or pure GIS analysts without agricultural data experience will not be considered).

Education:
Master's degree (M.S.) in Precision Agriculture, Agronomy, Spatial Analytics, Agricultural Engineering, or related fields preferred (PhD considered if paired with practical industry/field experience).
Communication & Presentation Design:
Exceptional written communication with a demonstrated ability to package complex analytical findings into executive-ready presentation decks and summary reports. Preferred Technical Skills Experience with John Deere Operations Center , Python, Tableau, or Power
