Government Contracts & Proposal Specialist (Remote
  • 1099 Independent Contractor) Remote $35 an hour
  • Contract $35 an hour
  • Contract Lykos Industries, LLC is seeking an experienced Government Contracts & Proposal Specialist to identify, prepare, and submit federal, state, and local government contract opportunities.
This is a fully remote, independent contractor (1099) position for a self-motivated professional with experience in government contracting and proposal development.
Primary Responsibilities:
Search SAM.gov , Central Bidding , and other federal, state, and local procurement websites for new contract opportunities. Identify solicitations that align with Lykos Industries such as SDVOSB, Veteran-Owned, Small Business, and unrestricted opportunities Review solicitation documents, specifications, drawings, and scopes of work. Research and contact qualified subcontractors and suppliers within the project area to obtain competitive pricing. Coordinate subcontractor quotes and assist in developing competitive pricing strategies. Prepare complete and compliant proposal packages, including pricing, required forms, certifications, and supporting documentation. Submit proposals accurately and before solicitation deadlines. Track bid opportunities, proposal status, subcontractor quotes, and contract awards. Assist with business development by identifying future contracting opportunities and building relationships with subcontractors and teaming partners.
Qualifications:
Experience with SAM.gov , state procurement websites, or other government contracting portals is required. Previous experience preparing or coordinating government proposals. Ability to read and interpret government solicitations and construction specifications. Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat. Construction, facility maintenance, estimating, or government contracting experience is preferred. Knowledge of Davis-Bacon wage determinations is a plus Knowledge of entire bid lifecycle Opportunity identification Go/No-Go analysis Soliciting subcontractor and supplier quotes Proposal coordination Compliance review Bid submission Bid tracking Award follow-up Maintain a tracking spreadsheet including:
Solicitation Number Agency Due Date Site Visit Questions Due Estimated Value Status Assigned Subcontractors Proposal Status Award Status Compensation & Benefits:
$35.00 per hour Up to 30 hours per week Flexible remote work schedule Hours exceeding the agreed weekly limit must receive prior authorization from Lykos Industries. Independent Contractor (1099)Performance Bonus Program In addition to hourly compensation, performance bonuses will be paid for contracts awarded to Lykos Industries in which you materially participated: $250 for awarded contracts under $100,000 $500 for awarded contracts between $100,000
  • 500,000 $1,000 for awarded contracts between $500,000
  • 1,000,000 Additional discretionary bonuses for contracts valued at $1 million or more Bonuses are earned only after Lykos receives a formal contract award and the contract is not subsequently canceled or withdrawn before performance begins.
The contractor must have materially participated in identifying, developing, pricing, coordinating, or submitting the successful opportunity.
