About the Role Fremontii, LLC ., an Alaska-owned commercial construction owner's representation and project management firm, is looking for an independent Outside Sales Business Development. The role exists to keep a steady pipeline of owner's representative, project management, and construction management services opportunities in front of Fremontii, and to recommend which opportunities the firm should pursue. Each assignment is governed by a statement of work that sets the deliverables, standards, and deadlines. This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement, not an offer of employment, with work assigned through project-specific statements of work. About the Company Fremontii, LLC is an Alaska-owned and -operated company with three decades of experience in construction facilities owner's representation, project management, and consulting. The firm supports commercial construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance work throughout Alaska, acting as a trusted advocate for owners from pre-construction through closeout. What You'll Do You'll drive new business opportunities for Fremontii by monitoring Alaska procurement channels, evaluating opportunities, and building relationships with public and private sector partners.
Your work will include:
Continuously scan Alaska public procurement sources (State of Alaska notices, DOT&PF, AIDEA/AEA, SAM.gov, and municipal/tribal portals) and screen RFPs/RFQs for service fit, size, location, and schedule Develop ranked recommendations on which opportunities Fremontii should pursue, with clear reasoning for each Manage pursuit timelines—tracking pre-proposal meetings, site visits, registration deadlines, and proposal due dates to ensure no critical step is missed Build and maintain relationships with owners, agencies, and facility managers through direct outreach and participation in pre-proposal meetings, site visits, and industry events Support proposal development by compiling capture notes, client intelligence, teaming contacts, and draft content Maintain organized pursuit logs and contact records for ongoing planning and follow-up Deliver weekly business development reports highlighting recommended pursuits, upcoming actions, and new opportunities identified What We're Looking For 5-8 years in outside sales, business development, or capture management (construction, engineering, architecture, or related) Deep knowledge of Alaska's public procurement landscape and purchasing portals (SAM.gov, state, municipal, tribal) Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with public owners, facility managers, and procurement staff Strong written and verbal communication; able to distill solicitations and make clear recommendations Detail-oriented, organized, and skilled at managing multiple concurrent pursuits and deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel); CRM knowledge is a plus Familiar with Alaska construction practices, remote operations, and seasonal scheduling Willing to travel within Alaska as needed for meetings and site visits Engagement Details As an independent contractor (1099) engagement, the contractor determines methods, work sequence, and daily hours of performance. Compensation is a monthly retainer plus a commission on collected fees. ( 10% for the first year, 5% second year, 3% ongoing ) Per new customer signed, there is a $500 bonus. Compensation is based on defined weekly deliverables and set per statement of work; where hourly billing applies, invoices are tied to specific deliverables. Contractors must provide their own computer and business tools, and carry their own business liability insurance where applicable. The contractor must provide evidence of workers' compensation coverage where applicable, or a valid exemption document. The engagement is non-exclusive; you're free to work with other clients, subject to reasonable confidentiality and conflict-of-interest provisions. Location Remote position ; Alaska-based candidates preferred, with remote or hybrid arrangements considered.
