Senior Cost Consultant (OOJ - 45334) 130000-170000 / US Dollars / Annual Salary NPAworldwide Recruitment Network update Last updated: May/04/2026 Job Description We are currently seeking a highly organized, detail oriented Senior Cost Consultant to join our project delivery team for a major Life Science Manufacturing construction project.
Note:
This position requires individuals to be on site in Boulder, Colorado 5 days per week. Relocation assistance provided. Please note you will be working on an active construction site. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of cost planning, including ownership of and presentation of cost plans to clients and internal stakeholders. Manage the procurement process, ensuring stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively. Support the delivery of cost management services to delivery key strategic outcomes and KPIs, directly influencing strategic development of plans. Serve as a client-facing senior cost consultant lead who assists with strategic, tactical, and technical advice. Manage and grow cost management teams or accounts. Interface with clients, external and internal consultants at all project stages. Conduct feasibility studies and produce procurement reports. Produce ROMs for new and pipeline projects for a project budget to be based on. Day to day cost management of medium-large scale client projects including procurement, pay requests, change management and cost reporting. value management techniques at the outset of a project involving existing protocols and systems. Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership and presenting the final cost plan. Manage the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including, pre-qualification, enquiry, evaluation, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively. Ensure post contract cost variances, change control, cost checking and valuation processes are managed effectively. Ensure the production of monthly post contract and cost reports and present them to the client. Provide value engineering life cycle costing. Manage the final account negotiation and agreement. Update benchmarking efforts as new projects are executed to provide real cost data to client.
Qualifications:
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance or related field (MS, MBA preferred). Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience working in a cost management role in the construction industry. Professional membership i.e.
MRICS/RICS
(or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, along with the ability to assure service delivery and provide meaningful/ actional insights. Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction. Experience in managing relationships with key senior stakeholders. Experience in Pharmaceutical/ Life Science sector or other similar manufacturing or highly technical environment.
