09/24/2026 The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation Administrative Services Division is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operational Resources Specialist to join our team in Pierre, SD. This position is responsible for managing property operations across multiple facilities around the State, ensuring effective and efficient use of resources, and supporting the Department's mission. This position is also responsible for coordinating all purchases in DLR. Duties & Responsibilities Manage property operations for DLR facilities, including facility operations, contract management, and vendor relations. Identify systemic property issues and recommend solutions to leadership. Coordinate maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and relocation of staff and assets across offices. Lead facility-related projects, including timelines, vendor coordination, and issue resolution. Develop and enforce operational policies and procedures affecting multiple divisions, ensuring compliance with state standards. Conduct annual ADA compliance reviews. Oversee purchasing, inventory management, asset verification, and technology lifecycle processes. Conduct cost-benefit analyses when making expensive decisions, consulting with leadership as needed. Collaborate with building designees, division accountants, and other state agencies on leases. The ideal candidate would have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: strong analytical and problem-solving skills. excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally. ability to work independently with sound judgment. experience managing projects, timelines, budgets, and vendors, being able to coordinate across divisions and agencies. familiarity with state procurement and financial analysis. proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Enterprise Resource Programs (e.g., BISON), or other asset management or technology procurement software. ability to draft policies, reports, and contracts. knowledge of ADA compliance, facility operations, and space allocation.
