Role Overview The Director of Government Contracts supports the supervision and on-site management of assigned government contracts, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements and customer expectations. This role provides operational leadership, oversees assigned personnel and resources, supports contract opportunities and proposals, and serves as a key liaison with government personnel. The Director also helps ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, contractual, and AbilityOne requirements while supporting VersAbility's mission of creating meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. What You'll Do Serve as VersAbility's representative on assigned government contracts and assist with contract management, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and providing technical assistance. Monitor assigned programs and operations to maintain positive customer relationships and ensure customer specifications and contractual requirements are met. Communicate with designated government personnel regarding contract performance and the quality of services provided. Prepare pricing data for followon year adjustments and assist with pricing packages for new contract opportunities, including technical exhibits, subcontractor agreements, and required schedules. Monitor opportunity notices from multiple sources and identify potential projects for consideration by the Vice President of Government Contracts. Establish resources needed to respond to contract opportunities, including labor estimates, equipment requirements, expendable materials, and other contract requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and reporting requirements, including OSHA, Department of Labor, and AbilityOne Program requirements. Supervise assigned personnel, including recommendations for hiring, performance management, training, work allocation, performance monitoring, and problem resolution. Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and work instructions for assigned programs and provide direction regarding organizational policies and procedures. Oversee the condition of facilities and equipment to promote operational efficiency, effectiveness, and a safe working environment. Collaborate with Human Resources regarding employee and Union relations. Work collaboratively with other staff to support rehabilitation services provided to individuals with disabilities. Act as backup to the Vice President of Government Contracts and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in government contracting, commercial services, operations management, or a related field. Demonstrated experience leading teams across multiple locations. Knowledge of or experience with the AbilityOne Program and/or SourceAmerica preferred. Experience supporting or managing federal government contracts preferred. Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required. REAL ID or other federally accepted identification required for access to applicable government installations. Ability to obtain and maintain required Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credentials and authorization for access to applicable military installations. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance preferred, but not required. VersAbility Resources will sponsor and pay applicable costs associated with obtaining the clearance when required to support business or contract needs. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This position supports government contract operations and may require work across multiple locations, including government and military installations. The role may involve a combination of office, field, and on-site operational environments, as well as interaction with employees, customers, government personnel, and other stakeholders. The position may require travel between assigned locations and the ability to work in environments with varying operational conditions.
