The Building People, LLC, has an opening for a Proposal Development Subject Matter Expert to support future growth initiatives and strategic pursuits. This position may support proposal development activities including proposal management, compliance, writing, editing, coordination of subject matter experts, color team reviews, content management, and proposal production. Successful candidates will have experience supporting federal government proposals for DoD, Civilian, and/or GSA customers and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Proposal Management & Development Lead cradle-to-grave proposal activities for high-value and strategic pursuits. Manage proposal schedules, compliance matrices, storyboards, color team reviews, and production processes. Provide hands-on proposal writing and editing for key or high-visibility sections as needed. Coordinate cross-functional contributors to deliver compliant, compelling, and customer-focused proposals. Continuous Improvement & Innovation Leverage data analytics to identify proposal trends, lessons learned, and process improvement opportunities. Establish knowledge management and content libraries for resumes, past performance, and boilerplate materials. Continuously refine proposal operations through post-mortems, win/loss analysis, and capture feedback. Stay current with emerging technologies, AI applications, and federal acquisition trends. Required Experience/Education & Skills 5-10 years of experience supporting and/or managing federal government proposals and business development pursuits. Experience supporting DoD, GSA, and/or civilian federal agency pursuits. Experience managing proposals through the full lifecycle, from solicitation release through submission. Knowledge of federal acquisition processes, FAR requirements, and proposal compliance practices. Experience coordinating cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and contributors to meet proposal deadlines. Strong proposal writing, editing, and communication skills. Experience developing compliance matrices, proposal schedules, and review processes. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and collaboration tools. Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, English, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Preferred Experience & Skills APMP Practitioner or Professional Certification. Experience implementing proposal automation or AI-driven content systems. Experience in facilities, energy, or real property government contracting environments is a plus.
