This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of the sailing program, from staff supervision and operational management to guest engagement and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for sailing, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for participants of all ages. As the Sailing Program Director, you will drive program excellence, ensure safety compliance, and foster a vibrant, inclusive sailing community that inspires both novice and seasoned sailors alike. Responsibilities Lead the planning, development, and execution of sailing programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and safety standards Supervise and manage sailing staff, including instructors, lifeguards, and support personnel, providing ongoing training and performance feedback Oversee daily operations of the sailing facility, including shift management, equipment maintenance, and event coordination Manage budgets for sailing activities, including procurement of equipment, supplies, and staffing resources Coordinate special events such as regattas, races, or community sailing days to promote engagement and visibility Ensure compliance with safety regulations by implementing rigorous safety protocols and conducting regular safety drills Foster excellent customer service by engaging with guests, addressing inquiries promptly, and ensuring memorable experiences for all participants Experience Proven experience in sailing program management or related roles within a maritime or resort environment Demonstrated leadership in staff supervision and team management with strong managerial decision-making skills Experience in event management, including planning and executing large-scale or community events Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for report writing, scheduling, budgeting, and communication purposes Background in operations management with a focus on hospitality or resort settings is highly desirable Skilled in supervising staff during shifts while maintaining high standards of guest services and safety compliance First aid and CPR certification is required; additional technical proficiency in water safety equipment is advantageous Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience within a similar setting will be considered a strong asset Join us as our Sailing Program Director to lead an exciting team dedicated to creating memorable sailing experiences!
