JOB SUMMARY
The Commercial Banking Producing Team Leader is responsible for individual production and leading a team in a specific, high density geographic market where the Commercial Banking Regional Team Leader would typically have multiple geographic territories under their span of control.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Achieves individually assigned production/portfolio growth objectives.
  • Leads a team of in-market commercial bankers to ensure full adoption of the commercial banking structured sales and credit processes.
  • Assists the Regional Team Leader with recruiting, hiring, staffing, employee coaching and development, employee engagement, team building, joint calling, joint presenting to Credit, culture setting in their assigned territory, and serving as backup in the Market Leaders absence.
  • Represents the Bank and bank-sponsored events in market, coordinates market events for business development/client engagement, serves on relevant in-market community organizations, typically at the board level.
  • Works in close accord with Commercial Banking Regional Team Leader to ensure departmental sales and credit objectives are met.
  • Works with team members on structuring credit requests, presenting loans to Underwriting and senior management for decision. Reviews cash flow and financials with team members and Credit.
  • Coaches team members and assists in developing and implementing action plans for assigned team. Meets with assigned team on a regular basis and documents any actions to be taken in an employee's personnel file.
  • Ensures the full implantation and utilization of the Bank's contact management and sales tracking systems, where applicable.
  • Develops and implements ongoing tactics to achieve goals and provide for client satisfaction.
  • Monitors and supervises employees' attendance and expenses.
  • Is visible in the community and involved in civic and community organizations while promoting the BankUnited name.
  • Assists with the development of campaigns and promotions.
  • Reviews and approves rates and fees as need be.
  • Overrules rates and fees.
  • Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
  • Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
  • Identifies and reports suspicious activity.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises function, projects or services and/or one or more employees, as applicable.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance coaching; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
