Overview The Florida Environmental Consulting Practice is focused on expanding Gallagher Bassett Technical Services environmental consulting presence across the state, with primary responsibility for supporting the Orlando, Tampa, and Miami Lakes offices. The practice provides environmental due diligence, subsurface investigation and remediation support, industrial hygiene, hazardous building materials, indoor air quality and mold, Legionella and water management, environmental compliance, and construction-related environmental consulting services. The Florida Environmental Consulting Business Development Executive will lead market development and revenue growth throughout Florida. The role will create and execute a statewide sales strategy, develop new client relationships, expand services with existing clients, coordinate opportunities across the Orlando, Tampa, and Miami Lakes offices, and collaborate with technical and operational leaders to prepare competitive, profitable proposals. Priority markets include commercial and residential real estate, development and redevelopment, construction, insurance and risk management, healthcare, hospitality, education, public agencies, attorneys, lenders, and other organizations requiring environmental consulting support. Success requires a proven record of consultative selling, strong relationships in the Florida real estate, construction, legal, insurance, and environmental markets, disciplined use of Salesforce and Unanet, and the ability to convert market intelligence into qualified opportunities, closed work, and repeat revenue. How you'll make an impact Create and execute a Florida environmental consulting sales strategy for the Orlando, Tampa, and Miami Lakes offices; build a qualified pipeline and achieve annual and quarterly revenue targets Build and maintain relationships with Florida prospects, clients, referral sources, and strategic partners across real estate, development, construction, legal, insurance, healthcare, hospitality, education, and public-sector markets Conduct Florida market research to identify priority sectors, major projects, regulatory and redevelopment trends, competitors, teaming partners, and near-term opportunities Lead opportunity qualification and coordinate the preparation, presentation, negotiation, and closing of profitable environmental consulting proposals and contracts in partnership with technical and operational leaders; target project efficiency consistent with company requirements Identify and execute cross-selling opportunities across GBTS environmental, safety, investigations, loss control, and related business-unit services Increase awareness of Gallagher Bassett Technical Services in the Florida market through targeted campaigns, client presentations, conferences, professional associations, and partnerships coordinated with Marketing Maintain accurate, timely records of prospects, contacts, activities, opportunities, pipeline value, probability, next steps, and forecasts in Salesforce and Unanet Participate in regular sales, marketing, operational, and office leadership meetings; coordinate pursuits and account plans across Orlando, Tampa, Miami Lakes, and other GBTS offices as appropriate
About You Competencies:
Relationship Building:
Capability to build and maintain long-term relationships with Florida real estate owners, developers, construction managers, attorneys, lenders, insurers, public agencies, and strategic partners.
Sales Acumen:
Proven track-record in sales and business development, with the ability to meet and exceed targets.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and proposal communication skills for client, prospect, partner, and internal-team interactions.
Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of environmental consulting services, Florida market conditions, applicable environmental and occupational health requirements, and the needs of real estate, redevelopment, construction, legal, insurance, healthcare, hospitality, education, and public-sector clients.
Negotiation Skills:
Strong ability to negotiate terms and close deals with clients.
Market Research:
Proficiency in researching Florida development, construction, due diligence, regulatory, and environmental trends and translating findings into targeted pursuits.
Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze data and market conditions to inform business decisions.
Problem-Solving:
Strong critical-thinking and solution-development skills for complex environmental, redevelopment, construction, and client challenges.
Team Collaboration:
Ability to work effectively with technical, operational, marketing, finance, and cross-functional teams across multiple Florida offices.
Client Focus:
Commitment to understanding client business drivers, providing responsive solutions, and building repeat and referral revenue. Education & Experience Bachelor s degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, industrial hygiene, business, marketing, construction management, real estate, or a related field
Preferred Degree:
Environmental science, geology, engineering, industrial hygiene, business, construction management, or related discipline; advanced degree is a plus Experience (Career Level Guide) 10+ years of progressive sales, business development, client management, or related experience 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting, engineering, construction, real estate, insurance/risk management, or a closely related professional-services market Demonstrated success developing new accounts, expanding existing accounts, managing a measurable pipeline, and closing professional-service work Established Florida relationships and experience selling across Central, West, and South Florida strongly preferred Compensation and benefits At Gallagher, we believe supporting our colleagues goes far beyond the role itself.
