Job Description
Responsibilities We are seeking a Summer 2027 Intern to join our Strategic Finance & Corporate Development team, supporting the financial analysis, modeling, and M&A work that informs Executive Leadership decisions. Over roughly 8 to 10 weeks, you will own 3 to 5 projects end-to-end. Recent examples from this program include a customer-level contribution margin and unit economics analysis, a recurring revenue and retention model to support long-range planning, and a market-sizing and competitive intelligence forecasting model to prioritize acquisition targets. The role reports to the leader of Strategic Finance & Corporate Development, and partners closely with FP&A, Accounting, Product Management, and the Enterprise Data & Intelligence team. Rising seniors who perform well will be considered for a full-time Analyst offer to start after graduation. Financial Modeling & Analysis Build and maintain financial models in Excel covering recurring revenue, retention, customer profitability , and unit economics Analyze bookings, revenue, and margin trends to identify drivers of performance and inform long-range planning and capital allocation decisions Document assumptions and methodology so the team can maintain and extend the models after the internship ends Corporate Development & Market Analysis Support the M&A process: acquisition target research and screening, comparable company and precedent transaction benchmarking, valuation analysis, and financial due diligence Build market-sizing and competitive intelligence analysis using external market data, government data sources, and industry benchmarks to size opportunities and prioritize targets Financial & Ad Hoc Analysis Partner with the FP&A team on ad hoc financial and strategic analysis requested by Finance leadership , including budget, forecast, and investment case support Translate open-ended business questions into a structured financial analysis and a clear, quantified recommendation Stakeholder Partnership Present completed work directly to Finance leadership and the leader of Strategic Finance & Corporate Development Build working relationships with FP&A, Accounting, Product Management, and business partners across the organization over the course of the summer Qualifications Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; rising junior or senior standing for summer 2027 Proficient in Excel, including building financial models with clear assumptions, data tables, and lookup functions Solid grasp of accounting fundamentals and how the three financial statements connect; coursework or internship experience in corporate finance, valuation, or M&A is a plus Familiarity with SaaS and recurring revenue metrics (ARR, retention, unit economics) and with valuation methods such as comparable companies and DCF is a plus; exposure to SQL, Power BI, CapIQ, or PitchBook is helpful but not required Demonstrated ability to work through an open-ended problem, not just execute a predefined task Critical thinker with intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to problem solving Self-directed, with the ability to own a project with regular, but not daily, direction Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analysis to non-technical audiences "Bad actors or scammers may try to impersonate Deltek and send fake job offers to people. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
