Summary The Shotcrete Manager provides overall management direction on all shotcrete project(s). Establishes project objectives through planning and budgets, serves as the primary point of contact with the client, and monitors construction and financial activities. Responsible for the financial results of the project. Roles and Responsibilities The Shotcrete Manager will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner: Develops and owns annual business plan and strategic goals for shotcrete team. Provides frequent updates to the plan to senior management. Performs all administrative pre-construction and project management activities for the shotcrete team. Performs quantity takeoffs and prepares estimates for all shotcrete proposals with input from all required parties. Coordinates with marketing and operational leadership for business development Reviews means and methods and productivities for each proposal with estimating team and senior management. Serves as primary contact with customers (internal and external) Assists Shotcrete Superintendent in scheduling shotcrete crews. Reviews all timecards and daily quantities for shotcrete crews, monitors productivity and responds to needs for improvement. Communicates equipment needs with BEAM. Ensures all crews are meeting or exceeding all safety, quality, production, and customer service goals daily. Coordinates workload throughout entire project development and ensures completion of documents on schedule. Prepares efficiency reports and trend analysis. Identifies and assesses issues and intervenes to effect positive change as needed. Prepares monthly financial reports for projects. Tracks financial aspects of projects. Coordinates and adjusts work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule. Supervises, trains, evaluates, and develops direct reports. Provides guidance, direction, coaching, and support to direct reports to maximize individual and overall department performance. Responsible for holding timely performance appraisals and progress reviews. Assists direct reports in developing short and long-term goals that align with department and Company mission and strategy. Ensures direct reports receive appropriate training. Training may be remedial, "maintenance", or advanced in nature. Takes appropriate action to develop direct reports including, but not limited to, preparing, and monitoring professional development plans, promotions, demotions, lateral moves, corrective action, and progressive discipline. Recommends that direct reports receive timely and appropriate compensation. Ensures compliance with employment and labor laws; may be responsible for conducting training or coordinating workshops related to such compliance. Requirements Bachelor's degree and 5 years' related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience 5 years of concrete experience and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience Shotcrete experience preferred. The following competencies are needed to successfully perform this job: Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Basic understanding of construction software such as Primavera, Timberline Ability to understand, customize and modify spreadsheets. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, craftsmen, and customers.
