Job Description
Position Summary Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering & Support Services. oversees managers/supervisor, staff and equipment of Maintenance, Clinical Engineering and Plant Operations for St. Catherine Hospital, Powers Health Rehabilitation Center, Northwest. Under general direction, plans and organizes a variety of activities designed to maintain and enhance the hospital environment to be a comfortable, safe, secure, sanitary, and attractive environment. Devises schedules, assists in monitoring methods, develops training materials/methods, and in consultation with other personnel determines tasks, frequencies, and performance standards of the hospital. Serves as a project manager and coordinates maintenance projects through either hospital employees or outside contractors as needed. Ensures that all such plans and procedures are in compliance with various licensing and accrediting entities. . Job Responsibilities Education/Experience Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of a Baccalaureate Degree in Engineering and/or Architecture Management. Three to five years of progressively more responsible experience in various supervisory and plant operations capacities in order to: Acquire a working knowledge of mechanical, utility generation/distribution operations, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC systems, and construction techniques. Acquire a thorough knowledge of various codes and regulations pertinent to areas of responsibility. Communication skills necessary to present training programs to small groups and deal with managers of off-site facilities and outside contractors. Analytical skills sufficient to assess tasks, develop standards, analyze products, prepare training programs, and prepare records/reports. Knowledge of Risk Management principles and issues regarding safety. Superior interpersonal skills and strong leadership qualities.
