Job Description

DUTIES:
Meal preparation according to USDA standards. Oversee staff during meal service to ensure that meals are being served with the correct components and proper portions. Train new employees. Will assist with end of the day paperwork. As Assistant Manager you will be molded into a Manager. Successful applicant must have the desire to be a cafeteria manager in the future. Successful applicant will assist the manager with maintaining the kitchen, storeroom, freezers and refrigerators in a clean and orderly manner. She/he will keep records as required for state reports. She/he will assist Manager as necessary. Successful applicant will learn all aspects of the kitchen including ordering food, doing inventory, filling in production sheets and doing day end work, as well as any other duties assigned by manager.
SHE/HE WILL TAKE OVER IN MANAGERS ABSENCE.
Job requirements: 1. Cooking experience using institutional recipes as written. 2. Must have good math skills. 3. Computer knowledge using excel and word are necessary 4. Understanding and using the Point of Sale Cashiering System is a plus. 5. Job also requires fluent English, good communication skills, including writing and reading abilities, as a successful applicant, you will need to communicate with students, staff, administration and the public. 6. Applicant must be able to push, pull or lift items weighing at least 35 pounds. 7.
YOU MUST BE SERV SAFE CERTIFIED OR BE ABLE TO PASS THE TEST WITHIN YOUR PROBATIONARY PERIOD.
You will be required to pass a proficiency test showing ability to read and convert recipes. You will also be required to attend any job-related training or meetings as requested by the School Nutrition Director.
