Capital Project Mega ManagerLocation:

Oak Ridge, Louisiana (Onsite)

Schedule:

M-F 8-5 Role OverviewThis position is for a Project Management Subject Matter Expert who will provide expert advice and mentor other Project Managers. The role involves supporting and managing large-scale projects, typically at the $250 million level, and may include managing a portfolio of projects between $250 million and $1.5 billion. The focus is on achieving project cost and schedule objectives while maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and risk management. Key ResponsibilitiesDefine the project organization structure and identify necessary technical skills.



Coordinate with functional departments to meet corporate standards.



Oversee project team activities and guide projects through the organization's Stage Gate process.



Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan, ensuring adherence.



Implement project controls to manage scope, schedule, quality, cost, and risk.



Serve as Contract Manager or Owner's Representative as defined in project contracts.



Promote safe behavior and monitor contractor performance in safety, schedule, cost, and quality.



Identify and communicate project issues, taking prompt corrective action.



Provide clear, timely, and accurate project status reports to management.



Manage and control project costs and mitigate risks.



Oversee the turnover of completed project equipment and systems to the owner.

Required QualificationsEducation:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.

Experience:

A minimum of 10 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, the Electric Utility Industry, or a related field is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Expertise in project and construction management fundamentals.



Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to transmission lines and substations.



A history of safe performance and active involvement in safety initiatives.



Supervisory experience, either with direct reports or within a matrix organization.



Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and project management applications.



Demonstrated cross-functional project leadership and team performance skills. Preferred QualificationsAn advanced degree is preferred.



Field experience is preferred.



Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired.
