UGO Management

Operations Manager / Office Manager — Bookkeeping, HR & Property Management Hagerstown, MD area · Fu

Job Description

Job Overview We're a group of small, growing businesses — real estate development and construction, a coffee shop, and a bowling & entertainment venue — looking for one sharp, dependable person to be the operational backbone across all of them. This is the role that keeps everything running: the person owners and staff go to when they need something handled right the first time. Our current person, who has done this brilliantly for years, is retiring, and we want to find someone who can grow into being just as indispensable. What you'd own day to day: Bookkeeping across multiple entities — A/P, A/R, reconciliations, payroll, and clean books your accountant will thank you for (QuickBooks or similar) HR administration — onboarding, employee files, benefits, compliance, and being a steady point of contact for staff Property management — leases, tenant communication, rent collection, coordinating maintenance and vendors General admin and executive support — calendars, correspondence, filing, and keeping the owners organized and ahead of deadlines What we're looking for: Someone genuinely organized and trustworthy who takes ownership rather than waiting to be told Strong bookkeeping fundamentals and comfort with QuickBooks (or ability to get up to speed fast) Experience juggling several responsibilities or businesses at once without dropping balls Clear, professional communication with owners, tenants, employees, and vendors Discretion with confidential financial and personnel information
Bonus:
prior HR, property management, or small-business office management experience Why this role: You won't be a small cog in a big company. You'll have real responsibility, direct access to the owners, variety every single day, and the chance to genuinely shape how these businesses run. Compensation is competitive and negotiable based on experience. If you're the kind of person people describe as "the one who holds it all together," we want to hear from you!
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Work Location:
In person
