POSITION SUMMARY
Supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Build members and the community's understanding of the YMCA's cause and impact. This position provides direct leadership, development, implementation, and delivery of high-quality programs, including direct supervision to a group of children in a school-age setting and/or summer camp setting along with Kid's Night Out and Family events. Provides positive engagement to youth and families in a safe, nurturing environment. All programs are guided by YMCA policies and practices.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Build personal, culturally aware, and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests. Listening, sharing, learning, and engaging, creating an environment where every voice is heard, and every person is respected, loved, valued, and feels welcome in our community. 2. Develops, implements and manages programs and activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally proper, and consistent with YMCA values. 3. Assures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met, and safety procedures followed while adhering to all State of NH childcare licensing requirements. 4. Responsible for all administrative responsibilities including but not limited to, hiring, firing, training, performance reviews of all Out of School Time staff and Camp Wakonda staff. 5. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by developing and managing budgets to achieve revenue targets and expense controls for both the Out of School Time Department and Camp Wakonda Department along with all necessary reporting. 6. Upholds all expectations set by the rented space agreements for SAU 29 Out of School Time sites, and Camp Wakonda locations. 7. Ensure activities and staff meet YMCA program objectives and look for opportunities to expand within the community in accordance with strategic operating plans. 8. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards. 9. Oversee all Kids Night Out and Family events in conjunction with other program directors. 10. Attends staff meetings, training, and other dedicated events. 11. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies. 12. Involved in the marketing and distribution of program information. 13. Assists in YMCA for fundraising activities and unique events. 14. Engages in professional development opportunities, including YMCA programs designed to build leadership competencies. Attend staff meetings, training, evaluations, and other scheduled events to remain current on industry trends, safety practices, and continuing education.Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
1. At least 21 years of age. 2. 3+ years' experience working with youth; 5+ years is preferred. 3. 3+ years of supervisory responsibilities of 6 or more staff members. 4. Proficient computer skills. Knowledge of excel worksheets is preferred. 5. 3+ years' experience managing a program budget; 5+ years is preferred. 6. Behavioral management skills. 7. Strong verbal communication skills. 8. A bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related fields is preferred.Compensation details:
