Job Summary The Director of Equipment is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and optimization of an organization's equipment fleet and related assets. This role oversees equipment acquisition, utilization, maintenance, compliance, and disposal to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. The Director of Equipment partners with operations, finance, safety, and field leadership teams to maximize equipment performance, minimize downtime, and support business growth. Main Responsibilities Advise in the purchase and maintenance of assets. Work with managers to establish long-term needs for investment in plants and equipment. Evaluate whether to replace, repair, rent, or divest equipment. Coordinate cost and completion of the renovation projects. Optimize the use and cost of energy used throughout the company. Manage investment orders and participate in supplier negotiations. Advise and assist plant and shop managers with equipment management and use. Participate in technical, technological, and logistical choices. Consolidate, analyze, and share performance data through benchmarks and reporting. Lead all aspects of equipment and accounting and recordkeeping. Promote and organize training and communication throughout the company. Due diligence of assets involved with new acquisitions. Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) rules. Propose technical solutions to improve safety and compliance. Due diligence of assets involved with new acquisitions. Education Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certifications in fleet management or related areas are advantageous. Skills And Physical Requirements Skills Proven experience in equipment management, preferably in construction. Outstanding ability to successfully implement maintenance policies and strategies. Strong analytical skills to consolidate and interpret performance data. Excellent communication and team leadership skills. Ability to strictly adhere to safety and compliance regulations. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Capacity to work in outdoor environments and various weather conditions.
