Coquelico Lead

Job Summary:
The Coquelico Lead assists the Manager in overseeing all aspects of Coquelico, our bistro at the new Mark Rothko Pavilion at the Portland Art Museum, that is owned and operated by Providore Fine Foods. This role requires a person who has an incredible eye for detail, design and quality. The role focuses on leading the team on the daily tasks of the bistro and following the systems used to ensure a productive, enjoyable work environment and service that runs like clockwork. This position requires skills in both guest-facing and kitchen environments as well as strong organizational and leadership skills, and the ability to dynamically lead a team. This is a leadership position with responsibility to open and close the business, and uphold the values and service standards expressed in the Coquelico handbook.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience in a restaurant, front of house role Minimum 1-3 years of kitchen experience in a high volume, fast-paced environment Exemplary people and leadership skills Must be extremely detail oriented with a critical eye A strong organizational mind and enthusiasm for upholding clear and teachable systems Excellent judgment and ability to find productive solutions to issues Great collaborator, creative thinker and problem solver Excellent written and verbal communication skills Current OLCC and Food Handler s Card Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google platforms, business softwares, computers and technology in general, including POS systems. Good math skills required.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Works closely with the Manager as well as Providore ownership and GMs Acts as a PIC (person in charge) when the Manager is not available Oversees all aspects of the bistro with a highly detailed eye in accordance to food quality, customer experience, and presentation of the room Teaches and models exceptional customer service Works with the Manager to develop organizational systems for opening and closing, daily productivity, cleanliness and safetyServes guests, makes Italian-style espresso drinks, pours beer/wine, assists kitchen when neededEnsures the dining area (inside and out) is quickly cleared and cleaned, tables set, and food/beverage is delivered quicklyKeeps all retail displays and grab and go cases filled with product Assists in training new staff and implementing training programs Works special events and buy-outs when needed Assists with marketing efforts and social media Upholds and trains staff on all health and safety guidelines Orders food/beverage, paper goods and other supplies Accounts for and organizes invoices and deliveries Maintains positive relationships within the museum and museum staff Organizes and maintains backstock and takes a leadership role in bistro inventories Troubleshoots IT issues + POS, internet and other front-end hardware Manages price updates in POS Supports underlying business goals such as gross margin, labor and sales targets

Work Environment:
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time position. At least one weekend day required, including nights and working events as needed. Vacation blackout November 15 January 1st.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items that weigh more than 50 pounds. Employees must be willing to work near hot surfaces and equipment in a humid environment.
BACKGROUND CHECK
All employees of Coquelico must pass a background check with the Portland Art Museum. Employment is contingent on receiving a clearance.
